I looked at condos (disabled people don't want upkeep) and the HO fees are way too much for me to do. I expected the purchase to be high but if we did leave here and sell the properties we could do it, but with the fee over 4 times what I pay now on our condo, it is not even going to be a consideration for us.

Condo maintenance here can be very high. New construction in the ala moana (near waikiki) that have lots of amenities, I think start about $1.2K. The condo I got (no amenities) I think about $330. My town house above pearl I think about $380 and the more sq footage the higher the cost. I'm looking for a house now
