You'd think that if he was smart enough to build that he would have been smart enough to buy a dog with legs.
Good morning Reonuts.
Read a couple articles this morning of states attempting to raise revenue by taxing vaping equipment and supplies. New Mexico is proposing a 53% tax and Minnesota is proposing up to a 95% tax.
As with another commodity that is prominently in the news uncertainty breeds fear and fear leads to increased prices and shortages. I.E. the uncertainty of proposed gun laws has resulted in a drastic price increase of certain guns, (and to a somewhat lesser extent guns across the board), and to shortages. Correspondingly ammunition and ammunition components, (ammunition reloading supplies), are undergoing historic shortages and price increases.
Those of us who have made the transition from cigarettes to vaping and experienced the benefits will probably find a way to continue to do so. We may not feed our adoptive hobby of buying as many new mods, instead convincing ourselves that our current collection will have to do. We may accelerate our schedule of reducing our nic content due to price or lack of availability but in the end most of us will find a way to adapt to restrictive conditions and continue with our vaping.
But that is us, what about those who have not yet made the transition? For most of us who were heavy smokers, (I was a 2 1/2 PAD smoker), the drastically reduced cost of vaping over smoking was an attractive allure. (Theoretically that still holds true, realistically mods are like Lays Potato Chips, ya can't eat just one... nor can you own less than a room full of mods.)
If through a prohibitive tax structure by states and yet to be determined oversight by the FDA will prospective vapers weigh the pros and cons and come to the conclusion that making the transition is both cost prohibitive and fraught with government controls that they are not willing to contend with?
One might even ask one's self if the government's vociferous desire to reduce smoking is mere lip service that is overshadowed by their desire to collect taxes through the sale of cigarettes and vaping supplies.
Okay, I'll take my cynical little self and go sit in the corner... but I'm gonna be vaping while I do it.
Did I say good morning?
