One might even ask one's self if the government's vociferous desire to reduce smoking is mere lip service that is overshadowed by their desire to collect taxes through the sale of cigarettes and vaping supplies.

Government's vociferous CORE desire is to augment their own power to exert control over the governed. This has been true throughout the history of civilization. Government would be fine with the governed being profitable, happy, and healthy, just so long as it was a result of their decisions and not those of the individual. They have to change the culture to get the governed to accept the ridiculous levels of tyranny they want to impose. Unfortunately, they're doing too good of a job with that.

It's a bit scary to know that someone else thinks as I do.

I finally made it to the doctor on the correct date. Cost more than I had, so I have to go back into town to pay the remainder and pick up some prescriptions (YAY!) My first impression of Medicare coverage isn't so great, sure am missing my old Blue Cross. :(
Think a bag of jelly belly's may find their way home with me too! Yum!
