I didn't think Canadians used those yuppie things  aren't we supposed to put the coffee in a pot of boiling water and boil the sheet out of it until all the grounds sink ?

Kind of reminds me of having the old percolator pot on the wood stove all day now that will put hair on your chest.

Back again, plants watered and wabbits/fish fed. Wabbits must be related to hogs, they can't wait to start eating....almost knocked their feeding bowl outta my hand. Cute buggers that they are, their appetite is voracious  Wish my appetite was as good, ate 1 meal yesterday and haven't had anything today 'cept fer 2 coffees and 1 sierra mist.

My order hasn't shipped yet, so thinking my new Reo might come near the end of next week :p

You mean your animals eat more regularly than you do? Not good buddy. You gotta take better care of yourself!

Hello Nauts,

Must've been in struck by the REO pandemic last night and ordered me a new mod. Jus' couldn't wait fer a koa woody any longer, may the Hawaiian gods ferever fergive me. And since my color of choice was available I went ahead and placed the order. It was a long drawn out process with periods of extended contemplation. Took me about 2 hrs before eventually the hitting the complete payment button on PayPal. Gonna have to sit back and do the waiting thingy till it gets here so I hope nut to go completely loco before then. DW doesn't know yet too, so hoping my soon to be birthday will smooth things over and help keep her in check. Nut that money is tight but nut knowing how much a new house is gonna cost is weighing heavily on us. :( I think most of you can guess what I bought so I won't belabor you all with the details ;)

There is a new tag below "cappy n oldbroad having an adult romance" if you peeps haven't noticed. Don't any of you think its me doing this, okay? If it was, I wouldn't be bringing this up :)

Congrats to Rob on two beautiful new cars. Is the Sonata a hybrid? Does Hyundai still have the 100k miles warranty? What's the mpg fer Julie's car? Reason fer asking is my son here needs a more gas friendly car and my son in LA also looking. Usually buys lexus/toyotas here cept fer my DW's benz which has given us nutting but heartaches....don't wanna make a mistake like that again :(

Thanks Nuts. I believe it is rated at 33 HWY and 28 city, 31 combined. They still have the 100,000 mile warranty on the powertrain. 5 yr 60,000 on major components and 3 yr 36,000 bumper to bumper. The Sonata is not a hybrid model. I will not consider a hybrid until they come up with a way to properly dispose of the batteries. They do far more damage to the environment making the batteries and improperly disposing of them than a big ole gas hog V8 ever thought about doing. Mine is still 38 hwy and 29 city, 34 combined, so plenty good enough for me and better than a lot of hybrids anyway.

Nope if ya boil it hard and long enuf they all sink :D. How's ya doin Roger ?
Hee, hee, hee, you said hard and long.
Okay, enough of that. I'm doing swell, Darrel. First day off in what I hope is an extended vacation. Looking to pile up some firewood hopefully. The one thing that sucks about getting free time at this time of year is that there isn't too much to do other than drink beer and file the tax return. No fishing, no hunting, no gardening yet; it's kind of a lame season if the truth be known.
Still,..........there is the beer.:)

Their warranty is really sweet as well as the mpg. Gonna have to take a hard look at them when the time comes. :) BTW, Julie's car looks like it might have trouble looking out the rear window and blind spots when changing lanes. How do you feel about this?

I don't like the mouth feel of them. I have tried them, but they can't get it right for me. I have 3 glass ones that sit unused.

ETA: and when I say mouth feel, I mean I like pawns not post-like ones.

I bought a beautiful glass tip... because it was soooo me. But I set it in the box to be safe. It is from a glass lamp maker here named Teena. I knew I didn't trust myself to use it too much...

I think I got a trailer for firewood etc today. The guy is on the mainland for the week but I told him I'd take it for sure. Just need to put lights on it and its ready. These new trucks with 6'6" boxes don't hold that much.

Hey, that'd be cool. Not for me because I just have my 6-cylinder Ford F-150 and a good half-cord load on her is enough. With your bigger pickup, you could really double-down on firewood or whatever you want to haul and make it worthwhile. I hope that works out for you, Darrel.:)

No real issue with the back window. It's not as good of view as, say a regular cab pickup of course, but I would call it small but adequate. Moderate blind spot on driver's side. I have driven worse but much better as well. Passenger side is not bad.

the inside of the box is 6'6"x12' with good solid sides so I can get a good load in it sides are only about 2' but can be raised easy enuf or not most of my wood comes from 1 minute away so not a big deal

does your truck have the 300 6cyl ? those things are amazing what they can do

Yup, the old inline 300 6 cylinder. It's a 1994 I bought new and has about 56,000 miles on it as I think i've said before here. Looks pretty much like a new pickup because its sat more than its been driven. Goes to the dump once a month and steals(did I say that?), I mean collects a load of firewood from time to time. She's been a good rig.:)

all the ones I ever drove were so low geared they'd tow pretty much anything any half ton can and some they were slow but that don't matter I like my diesel though I can pull a 10k pound trailer and still pass sports cars up our big hills
