That sounds like a good plan with the house hun. Plus will give you time to enjoy in one last great summer.

I love my smartphone. Its an Evo. Dang near run my business. That and a Bose bluetooth headset.

And with that I'm watching DW. Gotta get this to Jen. Didnt expect contract negotiations at this late stage but oh well.

Nutz...you really should be a teacher, I understood this description completely...tho I still have the same setup...when I got my new desk, it had a short shelf so I just pushed the monitor back against it with the cable propped up and the whole thing is working beautifully!


Kay you are using a cable that runs from your puter to the monitor (flatscreen). This cable has connectors on both ends. There also are also connectors, inside your monitor and inside your puter. Think of this like sex education, i know you know this right?

You got two couples one at each end of the wire. But the couple at the monitor end is having trouble. There is a signal loss between the boy and gurl. We know this because its on this end that any cable movement causes a signal loss. Now it could be the boy's fault or it maybe the gurl's fault. We don't know who is at fault. To find out, we use the easiest and cheapest route. That is to say, we replace the boy or gurl with another partner, making sure we don't end up with a boy/boy or gurl/gurl scenario. Which may cause further problems that I'll get into at a different time. So we have (1) monitor, (2) cable, (3) pc. Which of these you think is the easiest and cheapest to change? Hopefully you answered right away and said cable. But we still do nut know if the cable is good or bad. By switching to another cable, we can find out. But only if the replacement cable is in KNOWN working condition. Ok, so we swap out the cables and we see that the boy and gurl are happy again and your monitor is working fine. You wiggle the cable a bit and its still good to go. So we now know that the the fault lies with the wire connector.....and baby Kay is so happy that she found out what the problem was.

But if the problem still remains, then we know that most likely its nut the cable and that its probably the connector inside the monitor. The little bits of solder may have broken off causing an intermittent connection. This is a harder fix. If this is the problem , then it needs to be repaired with knowledge that I doubt you have. So a decision needs to be made, fix it or dump it. That's your decision, sorta like pro choice if you get me. If it was me I'd get a new one, men don't like lingering responsibilities so we say dump it. If its smaller than 22", then you should have dumped it long ago. My space for my monitor is limited to 23" so thats what I have. Your space may be larger, but get whats comfortable for you. Go the store and see in person the different sizes, stand away enuf to replicate your viewing distance at home.

Now, what troubles me is you wanting to buy a new cable....so you do that. Take it home and hook it up with your puter....lo and behold the problem doesn't go away. What happened? You just lost money on the cable and now your mad with me. Should be mad with Ray in my opinion.....but WOMEN....go figure. If you gonna get a new monitor make sure that the cable matches, take the cable with you and ask that young handsome guy if it will. My monitor can accept both types, yours may nut so find out before you buy. Ok so now everybody is happy, baby Kay is happy, the two couples and especially me.

Don't worry bout the screws on the ends, just make sure the boy and gurl are plugged in all the way (yeah, make the gurl happy). If you're the type that moves the moitor/pc a lot you can just screw them down han

My wife has a smartphone and i hate it - she "types" by swiping her finger over the screen. I bought a tablet the same and used it only for playing a golf game when err 'enthroned' - yeah!

I have a 'dumb' phone! I had it years and i love it - it makes and receives calls, same with texts, and nothing more. Give me decent keyboard any day over that nonsense!

I couldn't afford an iPhone - so i bought an iPatch: it's pirated! .........i'll get my coat.

edit: I went back and read my response...what a dip .....! I thought I was supposed to put my email in the thread:( so I said " I don't wanna do that"....I SO need a brain transfusion....
