Man you have a good memory. Yeah that was me who said it and the reason is because I feel you make blog-worthy posts, you call them rants but I never used an A7 for example, but after reading what you said it made me feel like I was there going through the same thing.

But just to put this in perspective, your rbas arent your go-to setups are they? I mean, I hope they arent. Just not consistent enough for me thats why my nice pricey z-atty-pro is sitting on the shelf collecting dust. I will re-visit it but I can only take failure in doses or I will burn out, no pun

REdhat this post is for you.. I think you mentioned how you love my stories a few weeks back, and then again it could of been someone else.. Oh well it's for you anyway..

mr PicC - it's easy really - this is what i do - so it has to be easy.

Get pliers and tighten posts first and loosen screws - i don't really care where the holes point. Then at least you have a chance to get it thru there.

Make your coil - i like super-x-drifter's wrap it round a pin etc - they are consistent and fast - take a bit more wire and loop yarn (wool in my case) halfway and pass that thru the coil, and pull the coil onto the wick. I sometimes use pliers to grab the wire i threaded thru the wool. The coil will go very tight - thin it out a bit, with thumbnail and a sewing needle - you can just nudge each coil.

Trim wick - and whack it into the A7. Tighten the screws till the wire just rises and then either cut or wiggle it off. Move the coil over the middle air hole - it will still move a bit even when in there.

I am no expert and it takes me 10 mins.

lol, i got this Showtime over 15 yrs ago. I quickly learned that i couldnt live without it. There is no way I can create the same foods in an oven as I do with that rotisserie. It can hold a 15 lb turkey. Or two cornish hens. Its foolproof. I think its simple dynamics. Moisture rolls around on the meet instead of dripping into a pan. Prep is usually the same for me. Rub with extra virgin olive oil and pat on a good layer of Mrs Dash. Then set and literally forget. Biggest issue I have with it is when I cut into the meat, it squirts hot juice on me. Try getting that out of an oven lol. Ronco just came out with a slightly larger, all stainless one and I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on it. And its worked perfectly being used at least twice a week for all these years. Damn now I'm hungry again. Ham sammich comin' up!

Ed I swear that you must be one of Dano's lost boys, maybe from a previous life , or maybe you got part Hawaiian in you someplace because you got some mean talent fer putting away some food.

Super, what do you about the idea of wraping a little cigarette paper around the wick before putting the coils on, then when the coils are ready to be fired up it turns the paper to ash and you blow it off, giving a little oxidizing effect

Redhat NO definitely not. I'm a tank guy thru and thru but I see the light with Rbas once the reo is in the mix. I really feel like they belong.
The mini Resurrectors are awesome but I'm fickle so flavors need to change as often as I clean my hands on some days.
As long as I'm not working with MESH(don't get me started) I'm prepared to learn.

I envy you folks that have... lawns, porches, yards, can make fires, garages, workbench, etc. I may live in amish country but I'm in an apartment near the city. Around here ya cant even spit off your balcony without offending somebody and fire safety rules by my communist apartment managment prohibit us from using grills, except for the one located next to the "community" pool which costs money for the "privilage" to use.

I AM 35 years old and still renting apartments, my high school guidence counselor did not tell me this would happen

My counselor told me to never move away from my parents...."you'll never make it out there". He didn't say one day they'd be the ones leaving me. Luckily beer was always around

it's easier just to pulse the coil - i blowtorch all my coils and ss mesh when i use it before i use it - it drastically reduces that filthy taste of a new coil you are starting to use.

That oxidises the coil and what's under it. I often use a little saddle of SS under it as part of the wick, but the microcoils cannot be done the same way. And ofc being cotton i cannot just dry burn them.

Making coils does not have to be complicated - i have seen it done by better men than me in seconds. But making them consistently is key to this entire thing. My personal preference is the fewer steps i have to indulge the better.

edit: ofc if you use silica etc then you can go for it - but i recommend pulsing it first - then you can see any hotspots and nudge them - it is not always necessary to give up and start from scratch!

Agreed. The first time you cook a prime rib roast in it you will be stunned. I wonder if they still include the cheesy dvd? Informative, but really cheesy. Cornish hens are my second favorite.

I love tanks, the best are Chibas - but they are a dog to fill. Novas i use mostly as does HRH - but on my Reos i use A7s - because they are not out of stock!!

Dual coil tanks are a waste of time - it's impossible to use them without flooding them and the gadget freak in me likes the ones with LED's in them. Alan Snyder is an old boy here and he has a schematic on them and makes some great looking ones. That work.

I used to always run adaptors on all my stuff because i changed tanks and flavours so often, but i have settled down a bit since then. My all day vape now is a Reo grand - brutalised to within an inch of its life and an A7 on top. I have a feeling that if i were to sell it it'd fetch maybe $80 but i see some going for much more.

a wood one i'd go for but only because it'd get used - i am not really into collecting these things or just getting them out for show, because i vape now instead of smoking and so i want the best tools for the job i can afford that are also 'in stock'! I have lots of devices i own that are out of stock right now and they don't work too well when i get out of bed! I spent a fortune in dreams!
