I'm just messing wit ya. No way I can hold even close to a tolerance of 5 one hundred thou or even measure or cut it accurately. Picture this, although the human hair varies in diameter, generally lets just say it's about 3 thousandths of an inch (.003"). 5 one hundred thousandths (.00005) would be 1/60th of a human hair!

My micrometer can read down to 5 one hundred thou but measuring anything under 1 thou accurately needs to be done in a climate controlled environment with certified calibrated equipment. Shooting for a couple thou tolerance is good enough for me.

I really like that Incra rule. I have the cheap smaller version of it. Now you got me started, these are rulers I use the most when it's not maching related. :)

Note: You know you live in the boonies when the hunters camp themselves in your front yard to hunt the field thats across the road from you.

My yard is fenced, so they are just outside of my fence. Every morning (if you can actually call it that since it's still dark outside) for the last week or so I have been rudely awoken by gunfire. It's really common around here during hunting season so I don't usually have a problem going back to sleep. This year the farm across the road (literally less than 60 feet from my front door) has seed corn in it. They won't be harvesting for another few weeks. There have been more pheasants than I care to count, some badgers that appear to like corn and a few deer in that field for a couple months now. It appears the farmer gave someone permission to hunt the field.

I truly have no issues with people hunting. Around here most of the farmers depend on the meat they hunt to feed their families. This just happens to be the first year that they have chosen to hunt from the irrigation ditch that runs across my front fence line. The ditch runs 5 feet deep and 6 feet across for over a mile down my road. I just always thought that a blind was supposed to be higher than the animals being hunted like in a tree. These guys have taken the below ground approach. Who knows, maybe Ditch Blinds will become the wave of the future? All I know is that a couple more hours of sleep would have been grand.

I know exactly what you mean!! Gunfire is my alarm here too. Good thing deer season is not year round!

Yeah just the way my brain works, I convert everything to the scale I'm using. The need for precision below a 64th is not worth it when dealing with wood and I typically don't bother going below a 32nd. But I can appreciate that the fine work you do with metal requires it.

Here's my favorite ruler

IMAG0151-L.jpg

Yay machinist talk. The parts I am working on today are drafted in MM and our machines ar all in American measurements, easy conversion but have a +-.0012 tolerance on the OD so changing tools a lot.

I wonder why you think that? I would love to hear why. He gave his watch to Sam so he could meet back up with them, and wanted to wait for him a bit longer. And he saved Carol's life? I think saving her life was playing VERY well with her when all the others who would have killed her. Even Daryl stated he would kill whoever did it, and we know Tyreese would have. If you mean giving her a chance to live without telling the others, I guess that would qualify. But it was the right move for the group who decides who can come to join them based on the 3 questions, the most important being, "Why". She is a murderer of the living and it wasn't proven that they would die. We hope not at least, because if you believe that then Glen, Sasha and Hershel will die.

The time is getting very near for the group to head to Terminus! I wonder if they meet up with Carol there, because no doubt she will hear the announcement somewhere. And I don't think she ever saw the Governor face to face, or he her, so if she kills him maybe she can win a spot back in the group? Just thinking of the future... total speculation on Carol. Terminus is coming!

GOOD MORNING REOville!

Good morning! I sure am glad my memory is bad for episodes of shows I watch. I am only watching WD on Netflix. So I have just finished last season.

The posts with all the new shows and what happens just slips from my mind. I try not to read them or concentrate on what is said.

So far I am doing great at keeping the last episode I got to watch in mind and waiting.

I do not have or want cable.

I have a marathon going with a friend to watch the entire thing (again for me) so she can start it at the beginning. She isn't watching the new ones yet either since she wouldn't even know who half the people are at this point

But I could not live without cable, you can't watch any of the stations I watch on TV without it? I don't have Netflix though...

Where I live, it's illegal to discharge your hunting weapon within 1/2 mile of a residence. Might want to check your local regulations on that one. They may actually be in violation of the regulations.

Our laws only have an effect in town. I live 3 miles outside of town. I really don't mind that they are hunting here. Would have been nice if they had come to me the day before and at least mentioned their intent. Not very smart on their part seeing as how just about everyone around here owns at least 3 guns. These guys could have found themselves being the hunted by the owner of the home they chose to hunt in front of.

I can watch online stuff but usually do not. Just tired of paying cable price for just the few stations I would watch. Plenty of stuff on Netflix.

More than happy with no cable for about 3 years now.

Interesting.

Here in Utah, state game regulations state:
1. You cannot discharge with 1/2 mile of any domicile, even a cabin out in the woods.
2. You cannot fire over any road.

They would be in deep doodo hunting that way here. Of course, courtesy would also dictate them letting you know ahead of time, especially since they are basically in your front yard.

So, I did something stupid last Saturday, and again last Monday. I have two checking accounts, one at a credit union, and one at a bank, both checkbooks are blue. Yeah, you can probably see where this is going. So, I never use my credit union account, except for squirreling a little money away, a little money. When the furnace guy came out, I grabbed the wrong checkbook, on both days. Waited all week for the money to come out of the account, wondering what was taking so long. Saturday two envelopes arrived from the credit union, but I had just paid off a credit card with them, so I thought it was related to that. Eventually I opened each envelope, one was an overdraft protection notice, saying the first check had been covered, and they had charged me the overdraft fee, the second was an insufficient funds warning, saying the check was refused.

I was mortified, I haven't accidentally bounced a check since I was a stupid kid. I pay all my bills on time, usually early. I thought I was going to have a stroke, I was so upset. I was really happy with the furnace guy, and am looking forward to having them out again to do checkups and whatnot. I called them as soon as I saw what happened, wanting to settle up for the second check, but their office people aren't in on the weekend, so I'm waiting on them to call me back today.

I put the credit union checkbook someplace where I will never mix it up with the other one, not that I'm not going to make sure I have the right one next time, but extra precaution can't be a bad thing.

I'm feeling better now, in fact a few hours after I discovered the problem, I had calmed down, but I still feel stupid about the whole thing.

Just wanted to share my little story, I would have shared it earlier, but it would have gotten modded due to language. ;)

 I've done something similar. I am my mother's representative payee...meaning I am legally responsible for her money and I have to submit her account details yearly for review by the SSA to make sure I'm not using her funds for anything but her needs and wants. Her account is at the same CU as mine and the checkbooks and checks are identical save for account number and one name. I ended up mistaking the two books and paid for a bunch of stuff for my daughter using my mom's account. Took me a few days to realize what happened...and ended up transferring funds from my account to hers to cover the debt. That could have cost me in much bigger ways had I not fixed it. Glad you got it figured out though...you won't make that mistake twice. :)

Hi Lisa,

I just thought of this. My sisters daughter has a friend who ordered an ecig online. She's 14. This doesnt help our cause at all. Sis and brother-in-law aren't pleased. It just puts ecigs in bad light whether that's rational or not. They think ecigs are stupid but better than smoking. Its hard to be perfect. I have to hear that it would be so much better if you didn't need those things.
