Just another quick stop in for me. Long long long day again today but that's partly cause i got to stop in the house for a couple hours. Surprise stops at the house are always fun. Hope everyone is doing well. I should be getting back into a rhythm at work again in another day or two and can maybe catch up on what I've missed around here then. Good night all.

Hi Zero :) Got distracted and wasn't sure if this was ever answered. Shiney things
Yes, modifying the box and internals voids the warranty. However, that doesn't mean that he won't fix it if you mess something up. If it happens just get a hold of Rob (redeyedancer) either by phone or message him here on ECF.

For sub ohm vaping, there is some voltage drop. But he is in the process of designing a "kit" that you can retrofit on your mod that will greatly reduce the voltage drop. The design is done, waiting on prototypes for testing and once approved, he'll have a large amount of them on the way quickly. If you have any questions be sure to drop me or Rob a line. :)

Really? I don't get out much.

I understand, but my question is really asking about whether or not I have a warranty as I bought it from a retail shop. They said their shop would not uphold any warranty.

Given the simplicity of the device, I know what I would do to improve it and it shouldn't break anything. I'd probably replace the spring with a higher current capacity, and add some litz wire or something similar to the positive contact spring. This isn't even subohm vaping and I'm getting a considerable amount of drop. I still love the simplicity of the juice feeding. I'm all for RADD, as it was the main reason I got a Reo. That, and it looks pretty great.

I had similar voltage drop issue. Turns out the negative spring wasn't making complete contact with the battery. Loosen the screw on the bottom of the reo and adjust the spring to "center". Then hold with your thumb and re-tighten. Should be around .3V drop ish.

Unfortunately this does not seem to be my case. :\

Upon using foil extensions on my meter, it appears to be across the spring itself. Not in the screw, tab leading to the spring from the screw, or the screw's threading.

Most of the drop seems to be coming from the positive contact to the battery and not along the length of the lead, which makes sense looking at the construction. I'm going to probably put a brass contact at the end of the lead under the button. Though, I have not looked at the lead contact to the center pin, or the 510 assembly. Just some food for thought.

Good morning Reoville.
A shout out to all the veterans that have served or are serving. Thoughts go out to the people in the Philippines. Coffee just kicking in. Made cornbread and apple sauce for the first time yesterday. My Buffalo Bills did their usual again yesterday. Celebrated dads 85th birthday Saturday with all my siblings present. Pot roast served with a 3 layer checkerboard birthday cake. Hope all have a great day today.

Darkzero. If you are getting that much drop you need a mod cleaning. Read the first post and watch the video here. Also undo you spring clean under it and noalox the screw and base of the spring. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/384228-reos-not-performing-well.html

Freedom,
Thank you for referring me to there. It was the first thing I found, and I did not figure I needed it. This box has never been used according to the shop, and had Noalox on the positive contact. I carefully cleaned the 510 and juice system earlier today, prompted by back feeding dark juice. I will probably go about resurfacing the positive contact at least.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into maintaining the spring. I will probably solder a flashlight spring in there for testing purposes as well, to a tab of course.

Darrel,
Is the storm in the Philippines effecting the travel plans and bring your stepson over? Hope your eye is healing well.

No it shouldn't she lands in Manila that wasn't hit and her family is North of there. She is worried as there is another slated for the same time but the forecast I have here doesn't show it to be that bad. Eyes pretty good some discomfort yet but much better thanks. I hope alls well with you Laurin. Time for me to get backto sleep only 4 am here. Goodnight all :) Or good morning I guess.

I went a little further and scuffed the anodizing off the bottom under the spring I haven't done a test since but I'd guess it would help some.

I'm finding the spring is the primary problem on the negative side.

Surprisingly enough, I had the thought to put the battery in backward, and lost a good portion of the formerly positive contact voltage drop.

Then I got distracted on crazy ideas for an awesome door design. I just drew up the door, and have been playing with some neat designs. A friend of mine that works at a machine shop owes me a favor, and I might have him make me a door with neat designs and negative embossing. Maybe titanium. Maybe awesomely anodized.

Good morning REOvillians!

I hope everyone has a reflective day; I am grateful to our vets whose unselfish service makes my way of life possible. There is not one person in my family who hasn't served, been born to or married a service person, or whose kids aren't serving now. Even though some could have gone straight to college, they chose to serve. We have mostly medical and cops, with an IT in the marines and a Captain in the Navy thrown in.

Thanks to all the vets for their service!
