I bet the living yurt would be stunning.

you want to see some gorgeous yurt type living, get this movie:
The Story of the Weeping Camel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Amazon.com: The Story of the Weeping Camel: Janchiv Ayurzana, Chimed Ohin, Amgaabazar Gonson, Zeveljamz Nyam, Ikhbayar Amgaabazar, Odgerel Ayusch, Enkhbulgan Ikhbayar, Uuganbaatar Ikhbayar, Guntbaatar Ikhbayar, Munkhbayar Lhagvaa, Ariunjargal Adiya,

Most interesting thing I have seen in a while, and the insides are decorated so beautifully! I mean, I wanted to live in there....beautiful colorful tapestries and colors hanging for walls.

This is quite an amazing documentary and very unlike most "movies" you will ever see. It's not action or anything, and it's slow, but a slice of life of people living this life which seems so "other worldly" to us as americans. The visuals are stunning.

If you want to be "transported" for the day, to something entirely different..

I won't tell you the ending

The paper I work for delights in reporting about her, so we're all very familiar with 'em. Personally, I think it's a mob front. That place doesn't stay open on the strength of the register.

What do you do for the paper, Dave/George? The time that I spent copywriting for a little Santa Monica newpaper, The Argonaut (went from and Argonaut to a Reonaut:)), was so much fun. It's now moved online (not nearly as fun, and not for me:().

Hope everyone has a great day! Running off to pick up a vintage, low seat, long bench that I picked up at habitat for humanity for the poodles to sleep on. I frequently walk through the place and usually all the good stuff is already marked sold. Couldn't believe my luck, the bench is exactly what I wanted for in front of the big windows...thought I was going to have to build something. Now I only have to upholster a top cushion.

Jen, so great to hear the cortisone shots have provided much relief:)! I want pics of both the yurt and the vintage long poodle bench when you get/build them!

Thanks karen, there should be a monkey in every iPad. On another note, keep your fingers crossed folks because tonight I shall find out if my woman passed her math final.

My fingers are starting to get sore, RHP...how'd it go for your sweetheart? And BIG +1 on Cheri's request to see some pics of you with your bra hat:D!!

Speaking of which, that was such a ridiculously cute grandkid pic, Karen:)!

My new carpet is here and will be put in tomorrow so I will be missing in action for a few days.

Hmm...don't know if I'm quite satisfied with that as enough reason to leave us in the lurch, missy, and you can't have my keyboard while you're gone, either:p! We'll be happy whenever you return, sashie!

Love british shows, mostly sitcoms. I might recommend Dad's Army, Vicar of Dibley, Royle Family, Two Pints, Fawlty Towers and My Family! (Thats just for starters)

There's my complete fellow Anglophile:wub:! Hope you had a lovely spot of tea this evening, Ed!

I have everything except the Peanut butter, I'll get some on my next order and try Val's version of Boba's since it seems to be a hit.

I'm missing only three of the ingredients (pretty shocked at that, as a non-DIYer), but I'm gonna give it a go, too:). Thank you, Val!

THANK YOU ALL so much for the well wishes for my foot. I could have SWORN that I'd already groused about it multiple times here in REOville:confused:...happened close to two months ago! But it's two bones in my right foot that I broke...awful fall down stairs, so it could've been SO much worse. One of my sweet pups tripped me up, but my own innate clutziness sure didn't help. The physical therapist told me today that the Lisfranc fracture is going to take a LONG time to heal, so this HEAVY cam boot stays on. Still, my injury doesn't rival Val or Gil's in severity. There are, indeed, quite a few of us in REOville who benefit from and take comfort in all of the healing vibes sent out by our dear fellow Reonauts. I hope you all continue to know that I'm routing my hardest for your speedy recovery from whatever ails you. This IS, without a doubt, the very warmest little nook of this entire forum:wub:!

'what did you turn the fan off for??' 'it's only for a moment - it's interfering with my vape and ruining my smoke-rings!' - OK, better now! It's 90s here and i need the fan myself. My wife thinks she married a crazy man.

I don't think there's a cure for the special type of idiocy that afflicts me Becky!

Hi Ed.

Becky, we were up over 100 yesterday, but cooled down to high 90's today. It's much cooler where you are "down the hill". Did you feel the itty bitty 3.2 earthquake this morning?

May have been HRH turning over! I once took her to the beach to sunbathe and she got really ...... off when Greenpeace kept turning up and trying to roll her back into the sea!

I'm in for it now! but wth! Work is rather joyless this week!

And hi Val and Becky and yes I'm enjoying a cup of Taylors of Harrogate just made if you'd like some! I have to get on that DIY bus soon also, if only I could decipher this Smilin Special Menthol. Its a bit dark so maybe carmel in there idk....

Love my Earl Grey! 'Trunky - would you like some cold iced tea?' "you're joking right??"

I took it to mean the hot weather? But I guess it could have meant tea...

Okay, what does boilin' up mean to YOU?

Making tea is typically "having/making a brew" as far as my mother is concerned. 'Boiling up is a heat flash/wave - depending on the menopause (penispause HRH calls it) or weather outside! Hope that's cleared that up! :)

"having a brew" to me is a beer. But I could see how your mother may not think of beer...
