The sofa seems to be where I get my best sleep at home, so that would have actually been my preference. I like to have my movement restricted by the back of it because I turned over once in bed and about screamed my head off it hurt so bad. I keep a pillow between my legs now when I actually make it to sleep in the bed. You don't need a screaming banshee waking up the entire gazabo!

I just couldn't find a flight for a reasonable fare. I needed to leave LAX Friday after 6 pm (and that was pushing it since PT is at 2 pm and with Friday evening traffic on the 405...) and return Sunday afternoon so I could make an 8 am Dr. appt 70 miles from home the next morning. I couldn't find anything under $600 with the fees and no 2 hour layover somewhere (I would have arrived at the airport around midnight, then drive the 100 miles), and then needed to rent a car, give you some help with the gazebo rental, buy something for the pot luck etc. It was looking like over $1000 for a very rushed weekend, and I just couldn't justify that since I haven't worked in 2.5 years! Had I been able to book earlier I could have probably saved on the fare, but since I wasn't able to judge the progress on my leg I didn't want to jump into it too soon and end up suffering.

I should add something about sleeping with Jack being worth it :laugh:

I know it's awfully late but did you check into flights to Oklahoma City? Also, if you could change your Doc appointment you could bunk here in my indoor/outdoor landfill till your flight leaves during week. BTW.... I sleep in recliner sofa about 99/9% of the time. I have a pallet on floor under bunk bed upstairs I sometimes use. I like denning sometimes.

Driving distance from OKC airport to Ardmore is about 100 miles. The Ratmans are coming through OKC from Tulsa Friday evening and others Fri or Sat morning. Clyde and Scott are coming down early Sat. There are two airports in Ardmore; not large but being that the Casinos are close they probably have good service from all over. Sorry but I haven't really researched it.

No pressure.... just saying.

I really wanted to horn in on this and come too. And I have some free airline tickets burning a hole in my pocket. And I really feel pretty decent right now. It's just that whole can't lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk right now that prevents me. By the time I packed REOS, batteries, charger, phone, charger, camera, charger, juice, prescriptions, a couple of changes of clothing, etc. I wouldn't be allowed to pick it up.

I use a melatonin blend almost every night. I didn't know this until I got a bottle from some internet source, after trying patches, and they recommended every couple of months not using it for a week.

On nights when I absolutely have to get some sleep and arise at a "normal" time I'll take some benadryl in addition. Occasionally even 10 mg valium. After using melatonin for a few months it no longer made me very sleepy. Mostly it helps to keep me from waking every hour.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

I use it too!!!

You ever figure out what was going on last night?

You could always FedEx, UPS, USPS your stuff to me so you wouldn't have to carry anything heavy. Like overnight it.

Me too! It seems like I've been off from work FOREVER. It hasn't even been 3 full weeks yet. I'm weight restricted for the next 3 weeks to 10lbs which makes things interesting. Anyhow, I go back to the Doc tomorrow and should get an idea of when I can go back to work. I know I'm off for 3 more weeks for sure, but she may want 5 more. So, it's just wait and see here.

Did you get injured at work? If they sent you to an "occupational therapist" fancy way of saying workmans comp doc quack, then ya have my sympathies. When my girl slipped on the floor at work, they forced her to see one of those docs, instead of her own physician. Things dragged out for weeks. Even though she was fine, they wouldn't let her back 'til they went through all the red tape.

I hope you get back on your feet soon. Fingers-crossed hun

I went to the Ardmore city site, it tells you which airports are "closest" and they were all equidistant so I tried a few different routes. My favorite was the 14 hour flight taking me through Denver and Albuquerque for only $577.

I will keep trying and see if for some reason something opens up that seems reasonable. Either way, I will not be able to get into Ardmore until early Saturday morning, then leave Sunday afternoon. I looked for a while before I decided it was just too much money for so little time actually spent with you all. It would be about 36 hours at the gazebo, if that.

I can't change the Dr. appt, DH already put in for the day off. And I can't change the PT either, or they will ding me for it. Even though they just gave me the PT appt, they are booked up and have a waiting list so I took what they could give me. The timing just couldn't be worse for me on this.

FibroFreedom, used to be called "FM." We've been using it for years. When I first started taking it, after a month, my upper respiratory allergies became almost nonexistent. That's before I knew it was supposed to help with them. I can't stress how much it has changed my life for the better as long as I take it religiously. And, like one of the reviewers said, paraphrasing, 'it's best not to cold turkey it.' I have gotten a little bit of shakes and/or uneasiness when I've done that. I'm off all prescription meds, except for 20mg Lipitor, including anti-anxiety mostly for migraine vertigo prevention, anti-seizure, for same, and rarely take any pain meds, one aspirin a day, and occasional acetaminophen in morning. I don't hesitate to take 2.5 mg valium, in mornings if neck/shoulders especially cranky but that's usually only a couple of times a week. Rarely ever need benadryl for allergies any more. I'm way sensitive to it and when I did take it during day I couldn't take more than 12.5 mg or I'd fall asleep or be too draggy to function. For many years, I took one Alka-selzer cold, fizzy tab, daily, just to be able to have sinuses open enough to breath. It's been several years since I needed to do that since taking the FM regularly.

Still don't know what was going on last night. Haven't taken time to check out, either. May have been something at State Park camping grounds but one of the search light helicopters had beam aimed down into woods that are Audubon Center and Habitat. Also, Northwood University has habitat connected to those over the hill from us.

We'll I think this is something we should do once a year and plan ahead enough that lots of peeps can make plans and get cheapest airfare if not driving. You will be sorely missed but with us in spirit.

Love and hugs, Feisty Alice

(((((((Healing Vibes)))))) going out to the hurting and those finding it hard to sleep. Computers included :). Kay hope your hard drive nut the one making it wonky and Ray yer problems sounds like a virus or malware infection to me :(. Becky, you want a new keyboard? Got a couple of 'em here nut being used. I usually toss them cause found the wireless type so much better for me. I think they can plug into a lappy too if I'm nut mistaken.

House inspection later today and expecting it to run about 5 hrs so if I'm nut around much you'll know why.

Are some of you folks actually flying in to this meet up? If so, that is AWESOME! Where's BFE, valerie?
Now listen folks, I'm near Philly, do you think I should try to make the trip? I would need a place to crash, though. And I have no idea how I am gonna explain this trip to my fiance (even after 6 years together, we still get the blues when we're apart)

You are SUCH a good nut:wub:! That term is honestly one my Nana would use when I'd been especially helpful with chores or something, btw. Actually, though, I think I'm gonna try to get Lenovo to replace it on their dime because it's pretty new, and these keys shouldn't have gone wonky for no reason. But Hawaii is lucky to have a nut like you to make it all the more glorious! All these new, constant full-screen pop-ups are another story. I've never had anything like it, and they're uber annoying:p. McAfee's sure not doing its job:glare:.

Redhat, are you serious about ('bout would've been much easier to type:p) joining in this meet?! The more that show up, the more the vicarious thrills for me:2cool:! I AM honestly quite excited to hear about the festivities and see the pictures. Hmm...whatever happened to that video camera that Alice was talking about?

Yeah, I'd looked up BFE a good while back because I'm snoopy like that:D. Nashville is one of the cities I'd LOVE to visit someday. Two hours from Music City means I don't think you quite qualify for that distinction, mousey, not to second guess you or anything. Scratch that; I'm not so timid...it means you're not in BFE, darn it:p!

Good luck, again, on that house inspection, Nutz, though it sure doesn't sound like you'll need it:)!
