hey everyone!
had to leave home for a few days...we got a hellacious icestorm and lost all power in the whole county on Sunday. Consumers said some areas might have power by Sat., so i called my GD to come rescue me...for some bizarre reason , a two-block area where she lives had power. Then I saw the Consumers Power Co. on tv saying that SOME areas in Genessee county might have power by Sat., so we came back here yesterday and got all the frozen food plus many more things to see me thru till Sun. ( I'd thought it might last only a day or two)
A while ago a friend who lives here called me and said the power was back on! I guess we were selected as among the first because there's so many decrepid old folks that live here,
There are some bennies to living in a senior complex!
Now I must go take a long hot bubble bath....my GD only has a shower..a tiny shower!

So coming out of the mall I had a new encounter.....walking along, minding my own business, vaping my VVGrand and after a bit a gal asks me " excuse me, are you smoking a real cigarette? "
Me: No....I'm not, why?
She: No problem, I just realized I don't have my lighter and I saw that cloud and figured I'd ask.
Me: Ya...3 years ago, I would have had a lighter to share. Have a Merry Christmas!
She: Good for you! You too!
Apparently it is becoming common enough these days that smokers are now having to ask if you're really smoking or not when looking for a light. LOL!

Good Morning REOVille. A little sad here today. Cody, our Shetland Sheepdog, passed away overnight. A 'rescue dog' we got in '05, we guess his age to be 13 or 14. He hasn't been himself for months, stopped eating several days ago and wouldn't drink water yesterday. When I saw him lying there I told Mamaw "I don't think he's going to make it through the night." At least he's at peace now. Looks like Papaw has burial duties once the sun comes up.
Anyways, I do hope everyone has a Safe and Blessed Day
EDIT- (8:26 am) That Carolina red clay gets hard when it's dry, but it's done. Still have Lily, our 5 year old Beagle, and Urlacher, my son's 3 year old Shepherd, so Mamaw is adjusting....
