Streaming HD video. YouTube, hulu, hbo-go, etc. Otherwise its generally adequate unless everyone Lisbon their
devices at once. 3 phones 3 laptops a media server and a TV can eat up 3.2mbps pretty fast.

aah. yes, multiple simultaneous devices suck it down fast.
chances are your connection (isp or cable or dsl modem, whatever) is saturated. most likely, upgrading your service is your only option, although if you read the earlier posts, Buddy's (element77) modem appears to be crap, so getting a better one there might help.
there's a
slight chance that your wifi router is also saturated. it's been a few years since i did the math, but if your router is slower than "N", that
migth contribute to slowness, especially if some of your devices can do "N"
lastly, a few of us have "dual band" N wifi routers. last time i checked, these were the fastest home wifi routers available. mebbe still are.
the thing about dual band routers is that they were introduced before pc's or devices (tablets, phones, etc) were offered with dual band network cards or chips. Doh!
but anyone with a dual band router who has a recently made pc or device should check the device to see if it can use the second band. that may reduce wifi saturation on the older band.
i just gave myself a geek overdose. i hope i can find 'Dumb and Dumber' or the Three Stooges on tv.
nyuck, nyuck
