I'm going to give jj2 a noogie which means I will rub her head for luck because as I read through archives around ECF I am finding she wins a lot of contests. Now if you could pick some lotto numbers I would turn up the charm. I believe money does buy happiness but only if you are ghetto poor. But after you reach a certain point of wealth (or emotionally) then money can enhance problems instead of fix them. :2c:

Heart goes out to the people in Moore. These things come out of nowhere. There is only grief and awe and you have little to no time to react....and no rhyme or reason when whole buildings collapse with children inside them.

4 years ago, my town in AR got wiped out by an F3 tornado with 165mph winds, the National Guard was deployed here for some time. Whole neighborhoods are no longer in existence. There is no way to describe how different it is, standing on a "moonscape" where all the natural and other landmarks have disappeared, and just seeing it on TV. It is the most disorienting and heartbreaking experience I've ever been through. And the week and months and years of cleanup that goes on afterward. And seeing your town on CNN and FOX news for weeks at a time.

Meanwhile, it's been a rough night here on the OK/Western ARKANSAS border for sure. Haven't gone to sleep yet, have been under tornado watch for about 6-7 hours and pummelled by storms and lightning............things seem to be calming down now.

Good Morning Reo-gang! My thoughts are focused on all those people and especially the children who may be still alive and trapped. Giving them strength to wait it out until rescuers find them. I'm still not over the Sandy Hook shootings. Havent been able to visit the area yet, but I know I will soon. I'm off patio building. Have a safe and low-stress day family!

Morning, REOnauts!

Today's fact! Wooden cutting boards were found by researchers to be hostile to bacteria, while plastic boards support the harmful colonies, contrary to conventional belief.

On Friday I sent home Tornado homework and we are collecting stuff to build our own tornadoes in a bottle which keeps for several months. That seems insensitive now or I am over thinking as usual. Can we make... snow globes? ideas anyone? I am prowling online. with the school affected it seems... like a kid bringing home a tornado in a bottle is the last thing they would want... I can buy other parts, right now we have dish soap and glitter. I was drinking mini Sprite zeros, that would be adorable to take home with something inside... It would cost me... $15 or so but ehh...

Quite the contrary, you should double down on the tornado lessons. We people naturally fear what we don't understand, and by teaching the kids more about tornadoes, you'll be helping them to keep their heads during times of tornado crisis because they'll be better informed.

Good vibes and well wishes to everyone in nature's path.

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Of course, DW has to watch tornado coverage before she goes to work.

"Do we know anyone in Moore. Doesn't your uncle live there?"

"No, Uncle Carol used to live in Moore when I was a kid, but he moved to Surrey Hills."

"I thought your other uncle moved to Moore a couple of years back."

Uhh....turns out the other uncle moved to Yukon, and the first uncle got back with my aunt naomi and moved back to their house on SE 17th and Bryant. We Andersons are a real tight knit bunch, huh? Less than a mile from the destroyed medical center and elementary.

Turns out everyone and their homes are okay, thank God.

Think we're going to have to get together and have a family reunion real soon.

I totally agree! While it may seem to "real" right now to us, most children are open to the learning experience. I feel it is the best time to give them a "hands on" when they are thinking about what happened. The explanation that the tornado is a force of nature and not in our control needs to be discussed. It is what I did with my own kids. Lots of talking, explaining, and comfort.

Good Morning Ed. Terrible times seem to grip a part of our heart and hang on. Those shootings, the tornadoes, the devastating storms, all collect in our minds and our compassion grows. The part of being human that hurts and yet gives us the need to reach out in some way. Healing takes time. But we grow and learn, and always remember.

Hope your day goes smooth, you accomplish what you need, and a smile burst forth many times!

Huggz sweetie, just for you!

Some good news out of Moore. The state medical examiner has revised the number of dead DOWn from 51 to 24. No details on how that got screwed up but that is a little ray of sunshine indeed.

Morning REOpeeps.

Scott: Knock it off on the X16 reports buddy (no really don't stop). DW and I have blown the vaping budget on an order for matching REOs but between your comments on it and Super X's, I still want to click the buy button to try some out.
