Haha...ya, I hear ya. I wish I had time to play with it today...but I need to coffee up and then hit the road. But thanks for the inspiration. I may do a project on that, just to work on my skillz.

Morning Lisa. I am sure you are tempted to take the camera along today. With you so close to the bridge you could probably get some great shots. Be careful out there! Hope your routes don't give you too much trouble.

Yeah, apartment living, headphones are a must. My downstairs neighbor is an old widow who came here from guess where? Arizona. Small world eh? I love this woman like she was my mom. Both she and her hubby WERE heavy smokers. She quit many years back but he passed away 5 years ago to lung cancer.

I take out her trash any chance I get and I NEVER make any noise at night, which is trickier than it seems because our floorboards make noise like crazy. I even wait for her to leave before I run the laundry (when I can).

I feel sorry that she is spending the twilight of her life alone and in my crappy overpriced apartment complex.

I was very lucky to find my small apartment when I had to move. It is on the end of a ranch house, totally separated. The neighbors haul out the trash, mow the lawn, shovel snow, and watch the property. I have no fear when I am gone for days. My Mariner is parked right by the front door off the street too.

Being my age it is a plus to have a place I feel safe and caring people close.

I am sure your help for her makes her life much better!

What a gentleman you are! I was just thinking though, she must have good hearing, because if she doesn't what you are doing is a bit of overkill. If she is a bit hard of hearing, you might be able to let up on some of those things

The condo is the upstairs unit, and I worked a lot of nights. Unfortunately for whoever lives downstairs once I am able to go UP those stairs, I do not show as much concern as you. My TV is on at night, and I have even been known to vacuum in the middle of the night when it is cooler. It will be quite a shock when my knee gets better and decide to spend some time in town

Ed, where I'm from, the tourist shops, sell small metal shields with place names on, for putting on what you call canes, across here they're called walking sticks, I've got 9-10 lying about, that used to be my grandfathers
Frank

How much would it cost you to send one of those to your brother from across the pond?

Sorry RHP, theY were my grandfathers, but next time I'm anywhere, near a place selling them, I'll find out, any particular sort of wood, & size, sure you can pick them up, for around £10 badges are around the £2-£3 mark, badges are enamelled

DH actually was a cane (walking stick) from across the pond. His brother went there for work and got it for him.
Across here, a cane, hasn't got the crook on the end, it's got a knob on top, the toffs(rich folk in olden days), used to use them with there top hat, & tails, ordinary people had walking sticks, started off as cut down shepherds crooks

I can respect that Frank. That was actually the reason I hinted to it because I already have a hawaiian newspaper from Norman. This would have been a good keepsake from Frankie. Anything else would just be considered a "cane" to me. But if you ever win the lottery just don't forget about chats buddy! God help me what davelog from arizona may include with the wood polish, hope it's legal!
