Hey Everyone--Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm a new REO acolyte, having been vaping for about 8 weeks before discovering the mini 2.1 that currently resides with me. I'm a father of two (2 1/2 and 10 mos) and a lawyer here in west central il. I'm figuring I'll be hanging out here some so I thought I'd say hi.

Nice to meet you! I'm Lee.

I've been to Quincy many times...small world. My Dad grow up in Hannibal and my Uncle lived in Quincy for quit a few years before he passed away.

Welcome! How's the REO treating you so far?

Have I ever said I strongly dislike the USPS? If I haven't. LOL.

I do.

Sent a package to Maine on Monday. Still not there. pffffft

For some reason it works that way in that direction but on the way back.

I sent a package to Maine on a Saturday, Rob didn't get it until Thursday and he had it back to me by Monday. They make no sense, same route just in reverse...government...

Thought I'd share this clip with you. It pretty much changed my life some 25 years ago and led me to learn about yet another rich culture and way of life. As a young'in, I tried to emulate this guy but I pretty much look like a floppy chicken with a thorn is his foot. Mostly, I love the freedom of the style and the camaraderie if you will. It takes pretty good skillz to pass people around and stuff. I think if we all went to dances like this the world would be a happier, friendlier place Enjoy if you get it....Dance With Me Movie - Bing Videos

That was cool.

I just finished watching a really cool documentary called Mad Hot Ballroom. I loved it! It follows rthe students of several New York City elementary schools as they learn ballroom dancing and compete in a city wide dance competition.

Lots of them learned some great social skills (young kids who probably have never touched a member of the opposite sex--5th graders) and a lot of courtesy as well as maturity. It was just a super neat film. The students learn the fox trot, merengue, rumba, tango, and swing dancing.!! The kids are just precious, and it's great to know that programs like this are being supported in schools all over the US

Hello Reoville :)

I am thinking of getting a few chickens for pets. Watched a bunch of vids on youtube and chickens are smart and can be very friendly. They can be trained too. They also will kill snakes and mice/rats. Well if i do get any it will be next spring and NO roosters allowed.

here is 2 vids of tamed chickens that made me want some :)

It's worth a try...if it doesn't work out at least you'll know you'll be eating good for a few days. :)

Any big plans this weekend?

Well, I suppose everyone already knows mine. But, what the heck, I will say it again: Walking Dead season 4 premieres on Sunday night and they are running the marathon

There is a memorial poker run for some dear friends who passed away that we will most likely go on if I can manage to get some sleep. While the bungie cords help keep me on the bike, falling asleep on it is really not a good idea :danger:

Welcome to REOville! You are so ahead of where I was at 8 weeks of vaping, you jumped right in and found the REO! It sounds like you are very busy with 2 little, little ones! Thanks for saying "hi" and hope to see more of you around!

I do. But, I think my wife hates it more.

LOL

I can understand that completely

Good morning REOville!

Welcome. A friend, I haven't seen in a couple of years, has some small, exotic chickens, she keeps as pets. She even has diapers for them so they can be inside some. She lives not too far from downtown Dallas, in a big old house with huge yard. (But lived in a two story duplex, small yard, for several years until they decided what to do with the big house. They restored it, eventually.) You can have chickens and other "farm" animals in city limits but no roosters or cloven/hooved animals. Sweet babies they were.

BTW... she and her husband have known DH since Medical School, late 1950's but they just hooked back up about 10 yrs ago. When I went to visit her, first time, in her duplex, she was pretty amazed I didn't think she was weird keeping chickens as pets.
