I truly have no issues with people hunting. Around here most of the farmers depend on the meat they hunt to feed their families.

I have no problem w/hunting either. Except that that "hunt to feed family" makes me wonder sometimes, as I know the HUGE amounts of $$ people appear to spend in order to go hunting? Some of them at least. Seems like you could put a lot of food on the table for that

I had to purple spray my trees unfortunately, complete strangers come onto my property, even from out of state, it amazes me that somebody would acutally drive up your driveway and park in your woods w/out even asking your permission, which has happened a few times.

I don't mind hunting, its just that I put corn out for the deer and like my birds at the birdfeeders, are part of my *scenery* out here, so I really want to keep the small herd/family that lives in my woods.

I have a neighbor who is a good hunter though. He lives on the edge of the national forest, and he "watches" the deer all season, by the time hunting season comes around he already *knows* which males will not ever make it, which ones are weak, etc. and he earmarks them for hunting season. He is a "true" woodsman and he understands stuff, and the ones he culls are the ones that wouldn't make it into the next year or so anyway. I really enjoy him, he is sort of a hermit but loves the outdoors.

sorry, Peggy. the attachment wouldn't work for me, but i'm joining Twerkers Anonymous, first thing in the morn :)

I swear Den, sometimes I almost feel guilty for mentioning twerking. Just sometimes though. Not very often. And only almost.

When does one get too old for nightmares?

Local news here from Spokane, WA:

E-Cigarette Fire

An e-cigarette started a Coeur d’Alene house fire over the weekend.

The e-cig was charging while plugged into a computer and firefighters say it overheated and exploded.

A family of four was home at the time and was able to put out the fire after the smoke alarm went off.

I hate seeing those things even though we all know they can happen. Not only because its a bad thing for the victims but because its ammunition for the naysayers of vaping. I virtually never charge when I'm sleeping or away from the house. The fact that the device was being charged by a usb cable on the computer suggests that its one of those vaping devices we too started out on....and left behind.

The sad thing, regarding vaping naysayers, is that any electrical device you have plugged in can start a a fire.

Exactly what I told DH. They can't tolerate the lost revenue. Apparently he heard on the news today that the county supervisors are meeting this week to vote on taxing them because they have nicotine. One of the supervisors got it right and said, "we want people to quit smoking, these are working, why tax them?" and is against it, the others want the cash from it. And that is all he remembers about that

If you ask 99% of people what chemical is in tobacco, they will only be able to list nicotine, so that is what they associate negatively.

Gotta have some signs like this. ;)
