The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Hey who was doing the diagnostics on the laptop yesterday morning? I am trying to fix this laptop I just got (it was trashed by the owner, I paid him $20 for it lol) and I am running malware bytes... But what's another good thing to run with it?

That was me I just deleted everything then ran AVG free. That's about the extent of my knowledge. The kid had 8 of those sipped up your comp virus things running along with some weird home page that wouldn't accept any north American sites.

You can always use a boot cd with Ubuntu Linux on it. Then when that cd boots up you can run an anti virus(plenty of free ones that run on linux) to scan the hard drive. And by doing this you can actually catch all the bugs because the windows portion is never turned on. That eliminates the virus' running a muck while you are scanning.

Good evening, everyone :)

Just called it a day...I'm tired and I'm making stupid mistakes now so I've shut the programs down and will resume my work in the morning. This cycle sucks. Lost so much productivity over the weekend due to power outages, I feel like I'm playing an endless game of catch up. No birthday celebration as a result and I feel as though I let my husband down. :( I know he doesn't hold it against me, but I just can't help feeling maybe I should have just put off today's work and just work a bunch of 18-20 hour stints for the rest of the week.

Good morning Reoville. Hope everyone is doing well in Reoville. We are in a January thaw in the northeast. Most of the snow is gone and the low ground is swampy. Yesterday I made some cornbread in my cast iron skillet. It was a southern recipe and its now thrown out in the yard for the birds to eat. I guess the difference of northern and southern born bread is that the southern has no sugar in it. I guess I need a little sweetness in my corn bread. The good part is that it baked great in the skillet and fell out of the pan easily. I did vape while mixing and cooking!

Yesterday was one of those days with plans and everything went almost too smoothly. GO here, go there, get this done, check,,easy peezy. Except for corn bread.

The woodvils Rob is working on are looking very good. I will probably pass because I may wait to see what the mechanical woodvils bring with them. I'm also very interested in the metal Grands that will take an 18650 and a Kick.

Sorry for rambling. Its good therapy.

Good morning everyone. Got a funny for ya. Have a request form to fill potholes on the side of the road from a resident. The potholes are hard on his car. He says people must be going off road and causing them.

Well stupid if ya didn't go off road ya wouldn't hit the potholes

Have a wonderful day everyone even amongst the stupid and dense :D.

Way to go, Frank! :thumb:

Belated Happy 2 year Vape-iversary to Buddy, too!

Lisa- don't be too hard on yourself. Given the option of a spouse that works their .... off or one that throws parties...Well, I'm sure we all know which one wins. Maybe you can have a surprise belated celebration after this run.

Laurin- the main thing (to me) about Southern cornbread is cooking it in a liberally buttered, smoking hot cast iron skillet to achieve that crispy, crunchy crust. There are still some purists holding on to the 'no sugar and only yellow cornmeal' philosophy, but I never bought into it.

Good morning and Happy Tuesday, everyone!

This recipe called for 2 tablespoons of oil in the skillet then leaving the skillet in the oven to get it hot then pour the oil into the batter. When I pored the batter it gave a good sizzle. :) Texture was good just without any sugar is was ....blah. I'll just find a recipe with sugar but use the same hot cast iron cooking method. If I get this down I might have a chance of being your corn bread person in the bakery. I'll go by the name" Corny Laurney the corn bread man." But I'll just do corn bread, nothing else..no register, no talking to customers, no clean up. I think I'll need an assistant too.

Corny Laurney....
You sound just like a baker!

The idea of fried pies has entered into the equation and is starting to take off. My Mom's last restaurant didn't make it because she tried to offer a variety of more upscale food, and the country folks weren't ready for that. However, even after closing her doors, she filled orders for fried pies out of her house until she went back into nursing. Can do it with very little start up costs and hit the Farmers Market on weekends to gauge interest before investing in a storefront. Might even have investors within the family that know about Mom's pies. Little Sister is showing interest in helping too, and that makes me extra happy.

Fried pies, Baked Fried Pies, Meat Pies

...and of course there will eventually be a healthy baked Poodle Pie for the pups.
