And I'm loving these vicarious thrills from reading about all of your little wooden collector's items:2cool:. Have a great one, all!

I just know she wanted to say something else but rephrased it because that would have opened up a pandoras box!

Just say it Becky, woody!

ETA: Now she got me thinking about an SNL skit where he goes, You like ze juice eh? I get you more juice!

Good morning everyone!

Thought for the day:

We all travel the milky way together, trees and men... trees are travellers, in the ordinary sense. They make journeys, not very extensive ones, it is true: but our own little comes and goes are only little more than tree-wavings - many of them not so much. ~John Muir

Good morning REOville!

Tonight I am making this: http://pinchmysalt.com/grilled-chicken-under-a-brick/

I already have the chicken done and marinating. I have to wash some bricks
It is going on the grill with some potatoes I am nuking for a few minutes to get them started, then slicing and putting with butter and garlic in foil, some fresh corn on the cob and if that isn't enough, will throw some zucchini on also. It depends on who all is coming, so far it is just me and DH and one brother, but with the amount of food I personally bought at the store yesterday (yay I could walk a bit!) I may just invite some friends over too :) Let me know if you can make it!

Ignoring Val's post on account of hunger, envy, and anger for being on the other end of the country 'n missing out on her din din. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, I'm known for raiding friends' fridges and beer.

RHP

Fridge in the house is full of food, the one in the garage is full of beer. Come on over, we have plenty. ETA: DH is a costco fan, I am not kidding. Really.

Maybe Becky can come up the hill? The metrolink comes here...

Oh, I am tickled by your DH's continued love affair with Costco, Val. With this big old Aircast on my foot, I'm not doing much traveling of any sort, but I do hope to take that trip up the hill before too long. What if I met your hubby and said, "Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Mystery Balls":p? I'd be sorely tempted, I'll tell you that much. Are you thinking about coming to either September's big Vegas meet or the one in Long Beach in October?

ETA - Love that JK reminder on your last post, RHP:laugh:!

I have no plans of dropping them on to concrete nor into a body of water nor driving my car over one.

:D

I had no plans on dropping any of mine either. But my VV purpleheart had a mind of it's own and swan dived to the floor. Rob patched it up real well though. And it's actually the prettiest of the ones I own now(patched up cracks included) because he refinished it and I haven't used it since he sent it back to me.

The great thing about the wood ones though is if you scratch and scuff them all up you can send em back to be refinished and they look good as new. Scratches on the metals are there for life though.

For once, it wasn't DH with the costco stuff, it was my brother who brought the mystery balls over. My two brothers went to Costco, and one bought the meatballs but his wife didn't like them so he brought them to me to do, but not the package! It was a plastic frozen bag o' balls. And of course, the rest is history

As for the Vegas meet, no I am not going. There is one in Anaheim on the same weekend. That is much closer and less expensive gas and hotel wise, so if we decide to go it will be the closer one  I don't know about the Long Beach one though, I will have to take a look at it.

Good morning, everyone :)

Trying to wake up and get motivated....have 10am orientation we need to be at to give a 20 minute presentation. So trying to wake up and settle the nerves....I hate public speaking. *sigh*

Just picture them all naked.....unless it's a male model convention, cause that won't help your thought processes any.

Uh oh, just seeing that there is a SEVERE tornado threat today from Des Moines down to Dallas, greatest threat again in Oklahoma. And lots of rain and flooding in the area too with flood watches. We had wind strong enough to cause accidents = closed roads here, but nothing like that.

Here is a nice video of the place I live, and the lovely wind and tumbleweeds

ETA: this was filmed about 10 miles from me. It gets good about a minute in. My allergies just can't take it!
