1.Why don't they sell them in a starter kit with batteries and charger?
2.Why are they so expensive?
3.Are they hand made or made in usa?
4.Why are the suppliers out of all of them? I couldn't find any for sell. I dont know about the classifieds though, not even sure how to find that section.
5.Do they have a warranty?
6.Why is this all so confusing?!!!!!!!
Lol @ 6. My biggest confusion is the battery thing, I keep reading the mods are the ones that have been blowing up, then I read it's because the users are not using the correct batteries,, only to realize that the mods are NOT sold with batteries which would explain the user errors.
- Rob's decision was not to sell batteries and chargers. There are plenty of other reliable vendors from which to buy those.
- Economies of scale. They aren't mass produced in China, but they're worth every red cent, in my opinion.
- The metal mods are milled from blocks of aluminum in machine shops under contract to Rob. They also get tumbled and anodized at other shops under contract to Rob. Rob and his porkies build them in Johnny's mod shack and ship them out to customers.
- Reosmods.com is the only place you can buy brand new Reos. (We're talking about Reos, right?)
- Rob stands behind his mods whether you purchase directly from him or from a private sale. Mod repairs usually run $10 or $20 plus shipping costs.
- It's confusing because you're just starting out and there is a lot of information to process and absorb.
If you buy quality batteries and a decent battery charger and an inexpensive digital multimeter to check their voltages every so often, and follow some basic guidelines of battery use and recharging, you have virtually nothing to worry about.
