Oh No... That does suck! You've been screwed! I have nightmare of doing such things...
I am having a bad day... My reomizer came, and I promptly lost one of the screws in the carpet, which I still can't find. Then I tried at least screwing it in to my grande, only to find the threads on my reo are stripped, probably from a bad drop with the A7. Apparently stainless threads are a bad idea :/. No working reomizer AND my grande has to go to the spa for a week, plus the carpet burn running this damn magnet over the carpet for the last hour. Gonna cry.
They'll sell like hotcakes!!! Any ideas of when you'll have some orings posted?
So I got my Reomizer and it was great right off the bat, but the vapor was too cool for me because the ohm was at around 2.2-2.4 so I dropped it down to like 1.85 and it was pretty good (probably want to drop it down to 1.5 - 1.7). I then uncoiled it so more and dropped it down to like 1.56 and now I keep getting dry hits or like a burnt taste.... I remember reading somewhere that if the coil is wrapped too tight it will cause the burning taste.. is that true? I think the coils tightened too much after uncoiling and pressing the wick down closer to the feed hole. Just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issues.
by the way I'm still new at this, so it was probably due to some noobie error. I'll try building a fresh coil soon and see how that goes.

If you are using a cotton wick and wind too tight it will burn quickly but it sounds like your not getting juice to the coil. I know you said that you pushed the coil down towards the wick hole but it still sounds like it's not getting juice. Sorry, that's all I got.
The wick needs room to expand within the coils or it will be unable to pull juice up into itself. If it's wrapped too tight, you'll get dry hits.
So I've been using the Reomizer for a day or two now and making a bunch of different coils.. BUT it seems like I'm not getting a very good flavor as I would from a regular atomizer. I heard from JCOkie that there's a break in period but I'm so impatient. I definitely get a good amount of vapor and TH, but the flavor is lacking so much that I have to switch back to regular atties for a bit. I'm definitely going to keep at it and see if the flavor gets better as I vape more.
I tried using cotton ball wicks but it seems that
1) The vapor production is not as great
2) It seems to start burning a little bit even though I'm keeping it wet
3) SO hard to wrap the wire around it because of the cotton swelling
I switched back to the silica wicks I got from Rob and they are doing much better. Flavor is still muted...I think I'm going to have to get some cotton that is pre wound since it would be easier to coil them.
It seems like other people on this thread are getting real good flavor right off the bat and it being the best thing ever lol... So jealous!
Can someone please give me some more advice? I am using 32 gauge wire and making 1.6-1.7 ohm coils. Also I can't seem to get my coils completely neat. When I put the ends into the post, the first coil gets stretched out and runs more parallel with the wick... Is that normal? I'll try taking pictures later to see if you guys can help me out. Thanks!

You'll get it just takes some practice your coils don't have to be neat just effective if your using silica once you have everything mounted up do a dry fire and make sure all your coils are lighting up evenly
Don't despair, you are not alone! I am riding this learning curve too. I'm getting great vapor and TH, but flavor is lacking. I'm starting to think maybe it is the cotton I use. It doesn't seem to stay wet enough for my long, drawn out drags.

I found that I don't have the attention span required to keep cotton wicks alive. You have to be diligent about keeping them wet, and vaping is such an auto-pilot thing for me that I don't realize when it's time to resquonk until I've gotten a dry hit or two. With a cotton wick, that's sure death every time.

I think I may be confused about how many embroidery threads people are using. I was separating out four strings from the main thread. This time I doubled over the entire thread, giving me 12 strings.
Other than the thread dilemma, does anyone see anything wrong?
...by the way, I love that I can lift the top off and peer in without having to unscrew anything.

That is one purty coil. This type of setup seemed to give me too harsh of a throat hit for my taste, so I started putting the coil on the same side of the posts, instead of diagonally between them. That puts the coil closer to the airhole.

Update~ Two hours in and loving it now. Best flavor and vapor ever. Definitely needed more wick, I guess I was vaping pure coil. The cotton still drys out faster than I would like and will definitely be getting some silica, bamboo, yarn, etc...to experiment with.
Now my only problem is Woody Woodvil is still sporting a Joye atty and is feeling very neglected.

Thanks for the pointer, Commie! I will try that next time and see which I like better. Would definitely make putting the wire in the post holes a lot easier. I might miss that TH though, my juice is only 8-10 mg nic. I kinda like cranking up the VV and letting it kick me a little.
Jen, if you get a chance pick up some cheesecloth. Probably the easiest place to get it is at the grocery store in the kitchen utensil isle. It gives a very clean, pure flavor, (yeah, I know, that's subjective), and wicks incredibly well.
It takes a little trial and error to find the right size wick, I started out too big and the wicking properties caused it to choke off the airflow. I now make them considerably smaller with vastly improved results.
Simply cut a small rectangular piece, roll it with the frayed ends toward the inside then, depending on the diameter of your coil either double it over or just slide the single roll into the coil. (It will swell considerably with juice so you don't want it too tight in the coil when it's dry. Leaving one end of it long enough to lay in the base of the RBA will wick up the juice and restrict, if not eliminate dry hits.
Seems to work really well and $3 of the stuff will last you 6 or 7 lifetimes.
(I'm not sure how dog hair will effect its wicking properties.)
