Looks like not enough wicking, which could cause spitting.

^^^This, too.
Mine aren't real close to the ring in my blue one, but they are or farther. Definitely try more wicking. It shouldn't be too tight, but not too loose. Enough to have to hold the mod to get it through...I usually (when I use cotton) have some resistance to pull through. If 2.5mm coils, then like 2.6 or 2.7mm of cotton.

I dunno - the reflections in the top pic are confusing me a bit - it looks awfully 'wet' in the base. That, and in pic 2 it looks like the wick tails are heading toward the center post. Is any of the wick too close or possibly covering the holes in the center pin? If yes the wick could be blocking excess liquid from draining out when you release on the bottle.

You could also be over squonking. Are the coils above the height of the lip of the deck? Could be cooking the juice. I'll get a better picture of my coils tomorrow and put up.

I had her line the coils up so they were even with the airholes. Looking through airholes on the AFC, she could see them. Hope that wasn't wrong. But that's what she gets for relying on me to teach her hehehe

I'm wondering about my juice formula. Even though my store bought Betelguese is 65:35, it's a lot thicker than my homemade anything. I wonder if I used more VG if I'd have this problem. I just can't stand the stinging on my lips.

dunno. I make my juice thinner than yours. I would definitely try another dt first.

You guys and gals must get a ton of questions about atomizers but I have to ask. First, I like the restrictive airflow of the RM2. Great flavor and I am a MTL vaper. Can you tell me if the rm 8 is the derringer clone and does it have restrictive air like the rm2? I read somewhere the Chalice III had major airflow, but still, I'm wondering if it can be restricted down? What do you MTL folks like as well as the rm2 and why? Which is the easiest to build? Thanks!

The rm3 can go from ok airflow to shut righ off. It's quite adjustable. The original chalice was probably similar to the rm2.

Mr. Eliquid had a sale recently on Chalice III's for 29.99 each. I got 2...... The airflow can be adjusted from wide open to totally closed by turning the small ring near the top.

I'm brand new at this and found the RM8 fairly easy to build. It was my first dual coil and @Debadoo talked me through it in a Google Hang out. I drilled my RM2 out to 1/16th because I found it a bit too restrictive. The RM8 is comparable with it set on one, but I like it best on two rather than wide open.

I rewicked. It's better. Not as juicy, but still gettin' the juice on my drip tip and lips. It's a good flavor, but not exactly the experience I want from my vape. It makes my lips burn and has a kinda bitter aftertaste. Maybe it's this drip tip. It's new.

If I am reading these correctly, the problem you are having is from spitback... Common problem in vaping. It can be resolved with a couple adjustments. First would be going to a thicker wicking and second would be a cooler overall build if thats not successful...

I would also add that on occasion, depending on how I am sitting or laying down, I have a tendency to not vape with my atty straight up and down and will get some juice in my mouth from this. The solution is to make sure the atty is more upright when vaping it...
