Just received an email flyer from Sean at Lightning Vapes regarding their new stainless steel wire and its superior qualities. All I've ever used is Kanthal and I was wondering if any of my fellow Reonauts have tried the stainless wire.
A couple folks on the porch have used it for TC and I'm pretty sure didn't like it so much for that. I know for sure one didn't.

This is what Xpen had to say about it on the Dibi thread:

Not at all, I use it on all my mechs!
You even get sort of an auto boost feature with it on a mech, for its resistance grows (moderately) with temperature. So you get a quick ramp up, followed by a mellower vape.
Couple it with a rayon wick, and it's nirvana. Well, for me at least..

My first TRA Reo is here! Now how and should I polish it to shine? Probably have to wear glove to use this Reo either way. I'm already seeing my finger prints on it...hmm...

If you are worried about fingerprints, then maybe polishing it is a bad idea!

However, since you asked, the easiest way is to use Mother's Mag polish which you can buy in any car/auto store. Wipe it on, grind it about a bit and polish it off.
No sandpaper and fingerprints for miles.

Awesome! Thanks :)

Do I need a drill/Dremel? Or a clean cloth will do? I don't have any tools at home.

i used an old t-shirt. The polish goes grey as you polish, so it's a dirty process.

But you need no tools, just a bit of patience. I got a TRA to close to a mirror finish with about 3 applications and 30 minutes of polishing as i was reading this crap!

Howdy folks, RedhatPat here. Been a while since this neck of the woods and I was just poundering if any of our fellow REOvillians have any advice for those folks who may be going thru a real deal bonafide mid-life crisis?

And as always, jokes are welcome 'cuz I love all those in REOville from the thought-provoking vets to the commedians who make ya laugh 'til ya bust a kidney!

Thank you for all these years and hopefully more to come.

In the meantime, to anybody who don't know why good ol' RHP decided to raise such an off the wall question after not posting for a while, it's 'cuz I'll be sentenced to the big 40 in 2-years, engaged to the same woman for 8 years and neither of us have a real credit card so we never feel more broke as a joke than on Fridays :)

Not to mention, I'm dependent on more than just the love I have for my woman, unfortunately. But I'll table that, folks.

I hope ya'll have a safe, healthy, serein, and better friday/weekend than me! :D

RHP

so... is this like engagement or marital advice you're seeking? (i don't really get "the big 40", tho)

as longtime readers of Reoville are aware, i am a close second to supertrunker for sublime marital advice. Jim's advice has been legendary, and i am on record for spending a quarter million dollars in my last divorce.

so...
once again, what were you asking? we're here to help

RHP,

Been a while and good to see you posting now and then. Gotta keep the old school rocking and i think i speak for Scotty if i say that's what this place is about.

For God's sake man, under no circumstances get married - you think it's a great idea and the sex will be fabulous but that's a lie.
An 8 year engagement - pah! nada. The best contraceptive known to mankind is wedding cake and a bride smiles as she walks down the aisle because she knows she's given her last BJ.

You woryy about your aege - well, stop worrying cos yure spelling gets all farfed and wong As older Yoda get you do.

Our density is to turn into Dennis, so if she smells and tastes good, by the time you are 48 n'est pas.
