She did some barking when they first showed up, but I told her to 'cool her Jets' and 'quiet' followed by a 'platz,' and she happily supervised unto they started making noise. Now she's hiding downstairs with me. lolMine not only would be supervising. They would be barking orders at them. Especially my little Chihuahua/Japanese Chin PITA.

maybe I should try that........the only thing my son's terrier mix listens to is the tater chip bag opening!!It's German for place. I use it for down when I mean business. Actually, I switch to German with her when I mean business all the time, so if she doesn't listen in English, she does in German.

lol don't have to say that one..........poke the bag once, and he comes runnin from a dead sleep in the other end of the house! Or anything that sounds like food.Kartoffelchip.. My 7-8th grade German fails me, but Google is my friend..
therein lies the problem. Me and sometimes my son are the only ones that train him properly. Dil and Gd train him......look at me with those puppy dog eyes and beg a lot and I'll feed ya 1/2 my supperIt's all in the training they tell me.
Mine is by no means beautifully behaved. She's a rescue. Was abused. Can't be around other dogs. I spent about $1000 on training to get her to listen and be able to walk her at the lake. She's a nervous Nellie, but a really good guard dog and super sweet. I have to watch where I take her, when I take her, and if we go for walks, it's usually during the week at the lake when no one else is there for her to get nervous about. I had a vet tell me that I'm a great dog mom because I know her triggers and take steps to keep her safe.We used to see a couple at a dog park we went to often. who had purchased a German Shepard which had come from, and been trained in Germany. The dog was beautifully behaved, and all the commands were given in German.
