Mine not only would be supervising. They would be barking orders at them. Especially my little Chihuahua/Japanese Chin PITA.

She did some barking when they first showed up, but I told her to 'cool her Jets' and 'quiet' followed by a 'platz,' and she happily supervised unto they started making noise. Now she's hiding downstairs with me. lol

thanks hun. Gary made it, too cute! Had one that mike did of me holding the pan, but this is so me!

I know... ;)

You said 'platz' and then what? it braided your hair? ;)

Isn't platz German for "down" or place? Lots of trainers use foos for" heel", platz for "down", setz for" sit", for obedience commands, especially Shultzhund or protection training.

It's German for place. I use it for down when I mean business. Actually, I switch to German with her when I mean business all the time, so if she doesn't listen in English, she does in German.

It's all in the training they tell me.
therein lies the problem. Me and sometimes my son are the only ones that train him properly. Dil and Gd train him......look at me with those puppy dog eyes and beg a lot and I'll feed ya 1/2 my supper

I'm sure Justice/Darrell will have something to say about dog training especially since he has raised a son in the presence of dogs that some consider dangerous.

i have no pets as i lack any empathy towards even people and am unsuitable.

Cats like me for that reason.

We used to see a couple at a dog park we went to often. who had purchased a German Shepard which had come from, and been trained in Germany. The dog was beautifully behaved, and all the commands were given in German.
Mine is by no means beautifully behaved. She's a rescue. Was abused. Can't be around other dogs. I spent about $1000 on training to get her to listen and be able to walk her at the lake. She's a nervous Nellie, but a really good guard dog and super sweet. I have to watch where I take her, when I take her, and if we go for walks, it's usually during the week at the lake when no one else is there for her to get nervous about. I had a vet tell me that I'm a great dog mom because I know her triggers and take steps to keep her safe.

I'm sure you are a good dog mom, and thank you for giving her a better life.
We have 7 dogs. All are rescues. Mrs Rule is a groomer, and groomers have a way of acquiring rescues, it seems. Each one of ours has his or her own unique story; abuse, neglect, abandonment. We've just done our best to give them a life they deserve, and they have rewarded us a hundred fold.
