He does really creative work. I just LUV it. I'm going to transfer my brass RM2 to the mini on the left and put brass Derringer on my lacewood woodvil with a drip tip that's white pearlescent with pink roses. The mini feels heavy in the hand, and perfectly fits my small palm. I don't know if Kay wants the one on the right, but if she doesn't, it's up for grabs.
Quite lovely friend, congrats to you and Kay if she takes it! Killer that you've got a lacewood. I think that's such a beautiful wood. I have a Wenge and use it daily. Never leaves the house though, it's my precious. But it's amazing how sturdy these woodvils actually are. Despite my best attempts to baby it, it's taken at least 3 big falls off a table onto wooden and tile floor. Not a single scratch, ding or defect. Now that's what I call heavenly.

Identical twin to my new baby! Just arrived in the mail today. Just need to get a bottle installed in it, and I'll be Tootling along.

Both are gorgeous!

You know you could just call and explain what happened. Rob would probably be willing to just cancel the extra.
I will do that if Oldbroad doesn't want it. I'd hate to send it back and then have her miss it if she really wants it.

@Robinowitz thanks :) So, I decided to mess around with Steam Engine a bit...here's a screenshot of a hypothetical 1 ohm build with SS 316L 28ga 2.5mm ID

As you can see, quite a cool vape there in terms of heat flux on a full battery. Heat capacity's fine, so that's alright. Let's compare it to your current 6 wrap 28ga Kanthal build:
View attachment 551081
That's a tad warmer, with a nicer heat capacity. Let's try building a little lower to see if we can match it:

Getting there. It seems 28ga SS isn't going to provide the same vape you're looking at so let's instead take a glance at 30ga.
View attachment 551083
Well now, that looks like a heck of a vape! Warmer than your current setup, (well, at least in terms of the initial firing...) and quicker ramp up to boot.

So maybe for you and @Debadoo, 30ga SS is the place to begin. Or you could try building as low as .7 or so with 28ga which I can say is a mighty fine vape (I've tried it, 2.5mm ID). I think 30 and 28 are worth playing around with. Any preconceived notions of moderate sub-ohm may just be tossed to the wayside with SS316L - it's so much smoother and cooler than a kanthal build of the same resistance.

Keep me posted ya'll! :)

ETA yeah, sorry guys, if we need to move this to the other thread, we can do so now :)
Thank you for the visuals (Steam Engine) and commentary on each! You helped fill in some gaps for me. I am so excited! Been a content Reonaut in terms of mods for a long while and have found my happy place with smaller yet more airflow options (0-16), now I'm in the mood to tinker with coils. I really appreciate this!

Sure! Sorry about forgetting the wattage aspect...that means you should scrap all those heat flux values except the first one posted. My bad. :(

Tinkering with coils is so much fun honestly! I love it!

I'm excited about giving ss a try, for my Z coil builds. I ordered some 26g and 24g yesterday, from Temco. When I'm out and about today, I may stop by one of our local B&Ms, to see if they have any. We have one shop that a friend of mine owns, that's pretty up on things, like regulated stuff, TC, etc. He always looks at me like I'm a dinosaur, when I show up with one of my REOs. (Actually, I am a dinosaur. But not because of the REOs. Just because I'm old).
Thanks so much hun! It'll be awhile before I experiment with it. Maybe sometime in July, maybe later, but I think I will give it a try. I really don't understand the heatflux stuff on Steam Engine and the other thing on the right but I'll get there. Really appreciate you doing the screen shots. As to confusing me...........well heck, that's not hard, I do it to myself all the time!!
Yeah, I think it was Robinow that was telling me about the O-16 lots of other folks like it too. I do like a lot of airflow, well at least as much as the derringer wide open. I know that's not a lot compared to some atties I haven't tried yet. Gotta get stocked up as much as I can on nic in July, then see if I have enough left for a new atty.

Times not colorful - but nice :)

Beautimous!!!!

Hahaha....LMAO Me and @oldbroad we're in the HO and she was trying to help me pick a patina mini for stealth vaping. I clicked on the one she liked (#11) and it said sold out. I clicked on my favorite (#7) with the blue and bought it without realizing I already had the other one...so now I have two. That's what happens when you send two old broads shopping.
Y'all were in the h/o today?? I tried to call her earlier but her phone was off of course. Both of those are gorgeous.......but I thought the one on the right was your first choice but you thought it was sold out. or am I confused again?? hehehe

pics or it didnt happen :)
Hiya Scooter!! Been missin you! I've mostly been on in the middle of the night.

(Let me know if I should move this question to our other thread?
I don't think it matters but @Sterno can weigh in, or others. Doesn't matter to me which thread it's on.

Maybe I can eliminate those crazy leg bends I do.
I dunno if you're talkin bout the same thing I get, but the second coil always has a crazy leg......drives me nuts!

@Debadoo got me addicted to this thing. I can't stand the metallic taste of my MPV 3.0 and Nauti anymore. The flavor with these reos is incredible.
I would say I'm sorry, but I'm not really. hehehe Bout time we got you vapin that gorgeous woodvil! I can't help it, when I'm excited about sumpthin I do like sloth does........just gotta tell everyone how great it is and gush over it so much til everyone wants one!

We were in a couple days before she went into surgery. She picked out the gold toned one, but I like the one with the blues better. I didn't realize I had clicked to buy the gold toned one when I clicked to buy the blue one. Now I have both.:lol::lol::shock:

Uh oh, my mind just melted. . No stress Sloth! After all Mercury is in retrograde for the next couple weeks and communication can get a little iffy. A good time to have a sense of humor for sure. Thank you again!
And Debadoo, I'll give it a go sweetie and keep you posted (after I get done confusing myself....).
Those 2 babies are works of art! Beautiful!

oh ok, I knew that, thought maybe she was in again and you bought another one. got excited, but knew it was too soon for her to go to the rehab.

@Rayonati Sloth the above is how a real sloth does it......gets someone else to figger it out then tell em what to get and how to do it. hehehe Real sloths do not love to tinker, I may have to inspect your ID card! lmao! Then again, I will spend hours getting a craft project just right, so maybe you are a real sloth afterall and this is your craft project

Just saw this from Mooch...... Counterfeit/Low Grade LG HG2 Test Results

Susan, we may be ok......I just ran my fingernail on the white insulator ring from the outside of the cell toward the contact, and I do feel some slight texturing, so these may be real. Do that with yours and see. I asked about this on a couple threads to see what others think. I'll post this on the tech thread too.

I saw that today also. I checked all of my HG2s. I have 6 of them. All good.

Yep! When I first started I remember spending hours upon hours trying to get a simple coil built without hot legs. It's amazing how far I've come - thanks to all the wonderful folks in REOville, and solely thanks to them. If it weren't for this community I'd still be vaping a Protank if I was lucky, more likely smoking again.
