If I am reading these correctly, the problem you are having is from spitback... Common problem in vaping. It can be resolved with a couple adjustments. First would be going to a thicker wicking and second would be a cooler overall build if thats not successful...

I would also add that on occasion, depending on how I am sitting or laying down, I have a tendency to not vape with my atty straight up and down and will get some juice in my mouth from this. The solution is to make sure the atty is more upright when vaping it...
Thanks for this. It explains a lot. I am vaping at .9 and I was used to 1.6-1.8 on a single coil with a year on the Nautilus. I didn't have these issues before. Probably should have been obvious, but I'm new at this and didn't give that any thought.

You guys and gals must get a ton of questions about atomizers but I have to ask. First, I like the restrictive airflow of the RM2. Great flavor and I am a MTL vaper. Can you tell me if the rm 8 is the derringer clone and does it have restrictive air like the rm2? I read somewhere the Chalice III had major airflow, but still, I'm wondering if it can be restricted down? What do you MTL folks like as well as the rm2 and why? Which is the easiest to build? Thanks!
The only thing I can add is that I know the chalice is a challenge to build, since you asked about easy builds. I've never used it since I don't like small air, but I know a lot of folks dropped springs with the originals because the build deck is very tight. And feel free to ask........that's why we're here! Well..........that's why the knowledgeable folks are here...... I'm here to be a cheerleader!!! hehehe

Hello. I seem to remember being here. It's dejavu all over again.

I have the RM2, RM4, RM8 and Chalice III, along with a few others. From my experience, the RM8 is a dual coil RBA. It is possible to go single, but I don't think the air flow can be lowered to RM2 status. Same for the RM4. The Chalice III is a Variable Air Flow device, and the air flow can be closed to nothing. But it is an expensive little device.
I am also an M-T-L Flavor Chaser, and the RM2 is by far my most commonly used RBA.

I scored in the classys too! It arrived today! Another will be coming later in the week. Lately I've taken to rescuing REOs .. I think it's time to stay away for a while

I was eyeballin' that one also. Great pick up... If it weren't for the fact I only vape about 6-8ml per day anymore I may have bought it when it was originally listed. The end is getting a little nearer for me and it probably won't be much longer. I find myself vaping less every week...

Vaping .9Ω on an RDA coming from 1.6Ω on an RTA is on the other side of the universe... I can see where it was more than a little warm for you. Certainly explains why you had an off taste to your juice also. You should probably been in the 1.2Ω range to start off. Keep experimenting and it will all become second nature in no time.

i reckon you can shut the RM4 down. For HRH i make her dual 27g coils at about 0.6Ω and she tootle puffs on that happily for months. She hardly makes any vapour.

The RM4 is the Atomic and although i don't use it anymore, that's on account of HRH stealing them for herself.

Nice to see you Paw and of course, the ever fragrant Delilah!

the atty on the above red sl is a RM4..at its 'closed offest', it's great for mtl. I received it along with the REO and I'm enjoying it just as much as my RM2s. It's not quite as tight as the RM2 but me being a strict mtl vaper, it's perfect.

For a MTL vaper, I would strongly recommend the RM3 dual coil. Drill the holes to 1/16 and set it up with 8 wraps of 28gK around a 1/16 bit or mandrel and you are golden. Been with mine now for almost 3 years and it still provides the best flavor of any other atty I've tried.

I had her line the coils up so they were even with the airholes. Looking through airholes on the AFC, she could see them. Hope that wasn't wrong. But that's what she gets for relying on me to teach her hehehe

You weren't wrong. I put mine there or just above.

I so wish I could swear here right now. I don't know why but I just had the worst coil building episode ever. Must have been 12 done and tossed before I got it right. I've no idea why. Normally it's 2 minutes and I'm done and vamping again. I'm going to go to sleep now and hopefully it still works in the morning.

Rob still has 100+ of the RM2 for the LP that he can machine down for the SP that you have. Just give him a call and he will send you a PP invoice for it or he will just have you buy the LP one and mill it down. Either way he will get it done for you... Just takes a phone call or email.
lol he must hate me. I asked politely if he had a couple of milled RM2's a month or so ago and he just as politely told me none were available and none would be. But...it's all good. Reos forever! :)
