I use vapors choice cotton and RxW in all my setups. As others have said, RxW lasts forever. The only thing that concerns me, and maybe others who have used it can chime in- I cant help think about all those little fibers, you know the ones that float around your face right after you cut the wick? They're hard to see unless you have some sunlight from a window coming in at an angle. Reminds me of fiber glass. I have changed the ways I prepare the wick now. before I cut the wick, I will wet it down with water first and then dry burn once coil is mounted to evaporate the water then lube right away with a big ol squonk to keep oxidation down. Seems to eradicate any pesky, nose itching, eye watering fibers. Another thing, I hate trying to thread the RxW through a coil. Instead, i will freewrap a coil around the wick (think silica) and for this, I fold the small wick over itself twice for a total of 3 strands of 1.7mm RxW. Be sure not to wrap too tight, it will collapse the hollow straw like feature of the wick. This method is good from 1.5 ohm all the way down to 0.3 ohm (my safety cutoff). I use 30AWG >1 ohm, 28 AWG from 0.6-1 ohm and 26AWG <0.6 ohm. twisted wire seems to enhance the flavor and twisted parallel is my preferred setup for quicker ramp ups. Been using this stuff almost 2 years. Despite the fiber issue, its my favorite wick.
That's one reason I never got any. I thought them baking it like they do might eliminate that, but I reckin not. It must not be as bad as silica, but that is the thing I hated most about the silica wicks I'll stick wiff my cotton.
I use the 3MM I used to use the 2MM but I like the 3MM much better..It took me a long time to get rid of the 2MM Because I had 5 FT of it.
