Then the deeming regs we've all been dreading came out, and that's forced me out of many of my comfort zones.
I needed a mech, and I knew that these were much loved!
I've kind of always wanted a Reo, but have been a little scared to try one since it's a mech.
But here I am. Better late than never!
that's precisely why I started with Reos a lil over a year ago! State govt's were already making laws, and if course we knew about the deeming then, just really hoped it wouldn't go through.

I was also nervous about mech, but I knew if I did get one, the only one I felt comfy with was a Reo. So I put on my learned how to make coils, and juice and got myself set up! You're going to love your Reo!!! And there are tons of us willing to help if you have any issues!!

Good Morning Reonauts. Need Coffee.....
Watched "Deadpool" last night. Daughter thought it was cool the way the lead character (Ryan Reynolds) kept talking to the camera. I always thought that was "First Person Narrative", but what do I know ? I'm just an old fart.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

When we moved here, HRH took the opportunity to get a big flatscreen TV. i had a little TV before and used it just to play DVDs.

Now i have 200 channels of crap and i cannot find anything worth watching, so i amuse myself on here instead. The remote is voice controlled and tells me off when i curse, which is far more fun than actually using it properly.

When I started vaping, (9-10-12) it took me about 6 months to find ECF, then about another 6 months, I think, to get on the coiling and DIY bandwagon.
My first motivation was saving money, my second was deeming regs.
After reading, reading, and reading some more...I learned how to rebuild and DIY some basic juices.
I rebuilt my ProTank coils, and coils for a very basic drip atty, and those couple simple juices, for close to two years.
Then I found carto tanks , and quit using the ProTanks...then cartos became harder and harder to find, so I went back to the ProTanks...
Then the deeming came out, and I ordered some Kayfuns, and an Avocado. I still want to get a few more RTA's, and a couple more bottom feed attys though.

I also need to polish up my DIY liquid skills, and focus on that a little more. I know all the basic safety stuff, but want to learn more of the "ins and outs" of DIY.

I'm extremely OCD when it comes to safety. Battery, devices, DIY juice, etc. That was why I thought the Reo would be so good for my mech.
Plus, I'd read here and there on the Reo forum, so I felt comfortable in the sense that there would be plenty of people willing to help. THAT, means A LOT!!
I'm just eternally thankful for ECF and those within all it's sub-communities!! Such awesome people here on ECF.

Oh yes...big girl panties have been on for awhile.

What I do need to do is figure out what I'm doing wrong when I squonk.
I try to do it slowly, but most of what I squeeze up, goes right back down. So, I have to be truthful, I'm not feeling the "squonking love" just yet, but I know it's user error on my part because so many just love it.
But I know there's a learning curve with most any new device or vape method, so it'll be fine eventually, just have to figure out what I'm doing wrong. :)

Sorry for the volume....

Good morning Reonauts. Having some coffee and watching the coverage of the tragic multiple shootings in Orlando, last night. Terrible!
Last night watched some of the new 'Roots'. It's very good. I'm old enough to remember the original.
Just saw this. Just terrible!! :(

Squonking - raise the e-liquid enough to cover the coil/ wick, then release and let the e-liquid recede back into the onboard bottle. Repeat after three of four firings of the coil.
After nearly four years I occasionally remove the drip tip and stare down into the RM2 (or whatever RBA I am using) and watch the juice rise and fall. That way I know the coils are wet.
Trust me, it was a lot trickier back when we all had atomizers and cartos sitting on top of our Reos. Especially at 75 mph. With 78,000 lbs. 500 miles from Home (and vaping supplies)

You will get the hang of it. Don't be afraid to ask questions, we are here to help.

When you squonk you want most of it to drain, you are just aiming to keep your wicking material wet. It's good atty design if excess liquid drains because then you are always getting fresh juice rather than having it pool and cook in the bottom of your atty.

That was a major reason why i moved away from tanks, because you are constantly cooking the juice and it turns into a brown sludge!

If your wicks are not holding enough liquid for the vape you like then that's an easy fix - use more :)

I try to do it slowly, but most of what I squeeze up, goes right back down. .

THAT IS OK!
A little squonk, the juice goes up, it comes back down - but now, your WICK IS WET. And you can vape a couple/few puffs.
Then you do it all over again...
Depending on your wick and your atomizer and the kind of puff you take, you might get just one or 2 puffs and then squonk again...or you might get 6 or 7. But that's all there is to it - you are wetting the wick when you squonk - and the juice is supposed to drain back. You may be squonking more juice than you have to if you're thinking it's supposed to do more than that...

cartos sitting on top of our Reos.

They leaked, always. Hence the need for a dripwell, which is redundant now. i hated those things - it was everything that was miserable about vaping; having to prime them, remember the Taryn spin?

You'll get the idea of squonking before long. I still over squonk or forget to squonk once in a while. We probably all do. I attribute it to old aged absent mindedness. Each atty will squonk a little different, depending on the size of the holes in the center pin, depth of the well in the atty, or type of wick, location of the air inlets, etc.
what I do is: Squonk the bottle, hold for a couple seconds, to allow the wicks to absorb the juice, and then release. The number of puffs, before needing to re squonk, will depend on your atty, vape style, and build.

Remember "Blind Squonking" ? A necessity in my line of work.
Toasted more than one 1.5 ohm atomizer learning that maneuver.

Just a thought - Whatever RBA you are using ( I mostly use RM2's) make sure that your coil is elevated slightly. This will prevent e-liquid from clinging between the coil and deck. This would not only restrict the juice flow back into the on board bottle, but would also restrict the air flow around the coil. You want a clean air flow around your coil for maximum flavor and vapor production :thumb:

I tilt toward where the wick is when I squonk, then hold back upright for the release :)

I've been known to squonk until juice comes out the air hole and stains the right pocket of my work shirt. Then I walk around smelling like candy. fruit, or pipe tobacco. o_O
