Oh that does sound really pretty!
I have a black, I was hoping it might look good on that. :)
Thank you very much for your :2c: :D

I would suggest heading for the golds to darker greens with a black Reo. Did Rob ever make any tumbled brass in a full size Grand? That would be perfect.

My choice was easy - the patina door came with the patina 14500 mini.

Can tell you this much: Whatever one you choose it's going to look a lot better in hand than it shows in the photos on the web site.

I'll have a look tonight when I get my stuff done and finally land on the couch.
I will look over everything again. I think there are loads of pics on the Reo Forum if I can just get over there and look. I did a search for "patina" earlier today, but I was just peeking in here and there when I had a minute at work. But saw some really cool looking ones!!

I figured they looked better in real life. Just going by the pics on the threads.

Thank you all so much for the input.

The Woodvils are my favorites -- they're what seem to find my hand, every day. While I have a few (fortunately, Debadoo isn't around!), I'd love to add one or two more. Does anyone know what Utile is? That's what's on Rob's site. Kinda like a Model T :). Photos never do his mods justice, so I'd really appreciate input. Thanks!

yes Rick ... he made a bunch of them .. that's what I got for my gold grand .. looks great

I did now know he ever made a brass Grand, that for me would be a dream come true. I love my 14500 Brass mini's, but a grand would be fantastic. I have wanted one sense I got my mini's, I remember the old forum had a history thread, I don't think I ever saw a brass grand in there. :?:

I love the Woodvils.....they always seem to be the ones I grab first, too. From what I understand (I don't have one....but I might yet) the Utile wood looks waaaay awesome in person....like it has a sort of iridescent glow. I know that ANY Woodvil looks better in person than it ever does in a pic, so there's that. I also read somewhere (don't make me find it) that the Utiles are a tiny bit smaller than the other Woodvils. There's that.

Woodvil Sale Day Thread - May 23, 2015

Here's a post from the old forum with a great pic of the utile. Hope the link works.
Thanks! The link worked :). Decisions, decisions ...

I don't think they are up there Kas as the first time Rob made them was apparently in context of the brass 14500 mini's. At least that was the first time I recall he ever mentioned making anything in brass. I knew the brass mini's were coming - and Rob mentioned that they were gonna be heavy - so I didn't think he was gonna go bigger with the brass.

As it was, even once the new round of 14500 mini's became available I couldn't find mention of them hardly at all in the archived forum. He really undersold these things.

I did a search after my post and I found 1 post where he was thinking about it, but did not do it. I could not find anything else about it. The brass mini is my favorite of all of them, if I had the cash, I would order a couple more of them.

I got three. :D

Brushed, patina, polished. The polished is just too damned pretty. Love it.

I put up web images when I bought them but haven't done real life photos yet. Will try to correct that tomorrow.

In all I have six 14500 mini's now.*

I never found mention of the patina models either when I searched the archive, let alone any photos.

*ETA: Seven if you count a 2014 Woodvil.

The threads that dwell on the beautification of our mods bore the hell out of me. Ok, ok, ok, don't get in a tizzy. Nothing against my fellow Reonauts who wish to augment the aesthetics of their Grands, Woodvils, Mini's, etc.
It's me, not you--ok? I'm a blue-collar guy and I look at my Grands as tools. They serve a purpose like all my tools and like my other tools, I keep them in working order. That's it.
So when I see the posts about pimping a mod into a work of art, I don't seem to get into it. Probably some kind of character flaw that stems back to my childhood. Now if Robert was to bring out a new mod made of carbon-fiber or titanium that was lighter but stronger, I'd be gushing all over that.
Just my two cents worth.

I liked your two cents worth. :D
I'm only half way into beautification.
I really have very simple taste, and I'm not an over the top type of person.
I am most definitely enjoying admiring all the really nice mods though.
This is all entirely new to me, and I'm just loving seeing all the different combinations.

There was a lot of chatter in the old forum about Rob doing an all brass version of the grand, but sadly Rob just didn't think well of it at all as it was not cost effective for him to make and it just weighed too much in his opinion to be a usable everyday device. This did lead to him doing some patina'd doors though. The first go round, iirc, didn't fair very well and he put the concept on the back burner for a while. Then he started making the 1.0 and decided that one would be done in brass and offered it in polished and tumbled. Then came the all patina'd 1.0's along with patina'd grand doors that were finally released...

In my opinion, he overproduced the 1.0 the same as he did the 2015 Woodvil and sales were slow. There are quite a few 1.0's still available, but not Woodvil's. I would doubt we will ever see another Woodvil run after the last batch sales weren't what Rob expected. I think this is why the P67 has been released in smaller batches than what he would've done in the past. The P67 was a long overdue device because it was just different from the grand and the grand didn't wear well with a lot of people because of the raised profile around the 510.

Pretty sure a nicely/gently used Woodville will be my next vape purchase. I'm keeping my eyes on the classies! The P67 has been in my hand damn near full time since I got it. What a wonderful device. I really like my LP Grand but I love the P67!

Working from home today and hitting the Grand with the RM2. This really is a great atty. I normally like just a little more air but the vapor that this thing produces is so velvety that I think I will leave it "as is". I was considering boring out the airhole a bit but I'm over that now.

Wow look at all you guys.

How is everyone? Long time no see.

I haven't been on in almost a year but my Reos are still running smooth (what a surprise). I think it's time I installed the new 510 connection... still running the brass pins in both of mine. Can someone link me to an install video? I can't seem to find one. Also, anyone using the heavy duty contacts? How are they? If you remember me, you know they appear to be right up my alley.

Hope everyone's well, missed all you crazy turds.

Edit: Also checked out the website. There are 6 new RM's! WOW!!!!!! HOW ARE THEY?! WHO'S USING WHAT?!

MadMan Z. What is up brother? If you send me a PM I'll enlighten you.
