I'm really irked at my REOs right now. Lost my RM8 ring, cap and drip tip somewhere. I don't like that it doesn't screw on. It's constantly getting bumped off. And they leak worse than Mario's plumbing. I'm ill with the time-consuming coil building. None of my REOs work well when the humidity is high. My MPV 3.0 and iTaste VV4 are fried and my new ones won't be here for another week. Between loosing my crown on my LP SL RM8, and not having a decent back up prepared, I actually had to stop while I was out and buy a pack of cigarettes. Smoked three of them until I could get home and get a battery in my lacewood with the RM2. Not happy right now.

Sounds like a bad start to the day.
FT sells replacement parts for the Derringer, although it looks like you can get a complete unit cheaper, and have o-ring spares.

Never had problems with humidity. Maybe needs cleaning under the neg. spring?
    Hope your day gets better!

Not sure what you mean by time consuming coil building. Are you making Clapton's? My builds last for six months and very often more. And I do use Clapton's along with other builds. If you're upset because you lost your topper who's at fault? If you don't like press on toppers the solution is simple don't buy them.

Unfortunately, there aren't many attys with threaded top caps. The overwhelming majority are push on, with o ring seals.
'Time consuming coil building'? 10 minutes work, and my set ups last for months. I just clean and rewick when necessary.

Sounds likemostly atty trouble. I never liked the derringer much.

I'd recommend seeking a better topper for sure - there are plenty (maybe not screw ons...but secure at least).

I think if you hurry, there might be 1 or 2 Nuppins left. Literally.

My recommendation, if you need a fairly secure top cap, and are concerned about leaking, would be to get ahold of Tom, of Catfish Atty Mods, in the Supplier Section, and get a Maker. The top cap is fairly firm, and it is a 2 post, top air, 22mm atty.

It was always drummed into me to have backups and backups for backups, which is likely why some of us have so many devices.

For hassle-free vaping i also use Claptons and RxW (Readywick) and the coils last for months. The wick gets blowtorched back to pearly white and re-used. Once every 6 months i'll sit down and make some wire. It's a lot less work than when i was messing about with tanks.

If you have atty topcaps that are loose try either a thicker o-ring or wrapping some dental floss under the existing ones to firm them up.

Any problems with my Reos have invariably been caused by my laziness and neglect of basic maintenance. I cannot make recommendations about what atty to use because the things i like are huge cloud-chasing beasts that you'd hate!
As you've discovered, vaping is a little more work than smoking, but with a little planning i'm sure you can get it all working. It would be a terrible shame to relapse after all the time you have spent smoke-free.

Just talked to Seapeach for a minute........she's worn out and just frustrated......so probably doesn't really need a ton of suggestions right now. I think she kinda just needed to rant a bit. Told her to call me once she's rested and is feeling better so we can figure stuff out for her.

Humidity shouldn't play too much an issue with your real sunny and warm at 86 here today thats not bad gets worse here often and its never been an issue unless I drop my reo in a puddle then it takes a few puffs to get it right again :D

But in all honesty if Seapeach can find some RM2 or a chalice they have the screw on tops and are simple to build basic work horses they are all I use now :)
^^^ this. I only use RM2s and Chalice IIIs, live in a high-humidity (Oklahoma) area, and have zero issues with my REOs. I'm in a total groove (rut????) with all things vape. I make my own juice, make my own coils, and keep my REOs in good working order. I make my juice up in 180 ml batches at a time, so that's totally under control. I have to make coils once in a blue moon (my coils last for months and months.)

Things have settled in for me to the extent that vaping actually is easier than smoking. If I were still smoking, I'd at least have to leave the house to buy cigs. As it is, I have to, at most, walk to my kitchen to get more juice.

Jup! I was also frustrated for awhile when I first started using Reos, cuz no matter what I did, they leaked on me. Didn't matter which atty (didn't use the RM 2 cuz I found right off I liked more air, and dual coils so only tried it once). Most everyone would tell me I was oversquonking. Once I got the right size O ring in the juice well first (thanks again @Rayonati Sloth ) I haven't had another leak since, and I'm squonking just like I was before. Oh.....except one time when my son was leaving the hospital and I had squonked just before they came in with the wheel chair, and I asked him to hold my Reo so I could push the wheel chair. I forgot to tell him to hold it upright, so he had a real purdy smellin cell phone and hand til we got home
