i spent around $100 on a box made by Matricom. it had good reviews, and it works pretty fine.
in retrospect, others have reported great results with this:

if i buy a 2nd kodi box for the bedroom, it will be under $50.
i used Exodus primarily for a long time. Lately, I have been using Zen, which i think is a fork of Exodus.
the two main live sports add-ons i know of are Pro Sports and Sportsdevil. They are hit and miss, particularly if you are looking for your home feed's announcers.
more often than not, i end up using my browser for live sports. i've learned how to protect my browser from malware and popups (i hope). i have a pretty awesome stream for NBA games. for other sports i go to /www.reddit.com/r/XXXstreams/. after a while you get to know the good ones, and how to avoid the crap some try to foist on you. i often end up watching NFL and NHL via reddit links. they also offer the most college game options.
i cut cable 3 or 4 years ago. i watched 3 live NBA games earlier tonight, then watched several tv shows an hour or two after they aired on the east coast on my kodi box. now watching an HD movie that's still in theaters.
i used to work in anti-piracy before i retired. streaming is legal now in the US (as a consumer) but i suspect a law will be passed sometime soon. when that happens, the ISPs will get paid to detect it. Comcast will be able to detect my streaming...
so...
a cheap kodi box is a good investment NOW, even if it may not last all that long.
Whats up fellow Reonauts? Been browsing daily but been very quiet. I have officially made it 30 days now, all is still well, and no one has died as an end result...![]()

There is a new thread in The Lounge about Kicking Cable. Just started this week. It started on the Back Porch, then moved to a Conversation, & has now been copied as a thread since it allows more people to play. You want geek? There ya go!Thanks for the info, D
I might go the reddit route through any one of the boxes/computers I can browse and display through the tv with. At least for a bit while I dabble further.
If I were being honest (and not a geek about this), I get more than enough content with about $20/month in subscriptions (on top of the cost of internet). All above board and without flaky service or the Sword of Damocles (in the form of policing) over my head.
Hey Papa, its going pretty good so far. Can't say I really have had any cravings or withdrawal symptoms as yet. That might have to do with my cutting nic out completely almost 2yrs ago... I would say that occasionally I'll be doing something and without even realizing it, I will look around for my grand and then realize I'm not vaping anymore and just go back to what I was doing without a hitch!! The activity that was effected the most was when I pick up my guitar and start playing. The in between tunes part has taken some adjusting, but going very well so far. Please keep up the updates. I am very interested in how you progress.
I have not personally met anyone who was as into vaping as you were who quit.
That might give you an idea of how little I have been vaping in the last 6 months...There is a new thread in The Lounge about Kicking Cable. Just started this week. The funniest thing about my quitting is its been a month now and "NO ONE" around me has even noticed!!That might give you an idea of how little I have been vaping in the last 6 months...
It wasn't until I got to the point of not having to have the device in my hand 24/7 that it finally dawned on me that this was a real possibility of me not vaping anymore. I think it all falls into the category of, "you have to believe in your head that this is what you want", before it will actually work!!Interesting. I'm particularly intrigued with how you transpose the behaviours associated with the few remaining triggers.
For me, vaping works because I've replaced all smoking behaviour, not done without. You gradually ceased those things (eg, no nic for 2 years, decrease in vape frequency) until you could do without the everyday habit, but you still have the music - something deeply ingrained in you and strongly associated to smoking/vaping. Can't ever see you doing without the music, so rendering any vaping trigger that comes with it inert would prolly be the ultimate step.
You might say "actually, that's no problem, either" - I hope you do, for that would mean complete success - but I'm intrigued by the issue of our cardinal triggers, the ones that are so deeply established.
thanks for all the good suggestions and advice, I heading for the RM2 soon!It will be ever so slightly darker as that is where the majority of the heat is concentrated...
Thats a whole bunch of juice in 2 days!! I don't recall exact times but I used to dry burn my 306's on a regular basis to make them last longer. Very quick pulses because they used some thin wire in those puppies... As to the rebuildables, Papaw was right on it suggesting the RM2 from Rob and if you aren't real sure about making coils you can get them pre-made from several places. Avid being one of those places...
