Hey folks,

Anybody hear and/or used Trimethylene Glycol (also known as propanediol, or PDO)? It's a substitute for PG, supposedly without the throat irritation for those sensitive to PG.

I'd never heard of it until just this morning when my DIY supplier wrote me about offering it on their site.
I wonder if it would help with PG's tintinitus? Interesting!

Our current rescue, Beau. The last dogs to be adopted statistically are BBD's (big black dogs) so we go for them. This guy is a momma's boy and my wife is thrilled to have a dog who loves her more than he loves me.

Never heard of Trimethylene Glycol but I do 99% VG.
Congratulations Beau! You struck it rich! (Handsome too).

Just checked them out. They have no stock in anything. Strange.

Did some checking on another vaping board - one that is local and has some folks who've bought this from the vendor that mailed me. They say that, subjectively, it's a dead ringer for PG. Same consistency, adds a little throat hit, carries flavour better than VG but less vapor production. This is, of course, anecdotal and a very small sample.

A couple of them claimed they had less irritation (they have PG sensitivity). That may or may not be the "wishful bias" in action.

I don't understand what the advantage would be to using this, instead of high VG juice, except maybe consistency in colder conditions.

Hey everyone I saw that a website named my vapor store sells the cyclone afc and I'm desperate to add this to my collection, I've always wanted one since I learned of its existence. Has anyone ever ordered from them? And does anyone have the cyclone afc? What are your thoughts. I'd like to order asap if I like what I hear lol. Thanks everyone

I just used mine again for the first time in a while.
It's a great atty - I run it single coil, but with air from both sides for a restricted lung hit - but it's in no way "airy" - it's a flavor atty.
Also, I know MyVaporStore - they've been around a long time.

However - note that the Cyclone is not by definition a bottom-feeder. They HAD some sold factory-bf, and for a while, Tom @ Catfishattymods here on ECF was buying batches and bottom-feeding them (a bit better than factory) - but if it doesn't SAY bottom feed, then it isn't - and you'll need to get the pin drilled...

Is the cyclone bf pin sliced or Allen from Tom? If sliced how does it squonk? Any leakage? I'm a little wary of sliced pins

I have a cyclone afc modded by Tom. He does quality work with anything he does. Can't lay my hands on it at the moment or I be able to answer your question on the modding technique. I believe he drills the center of the pin rather than slot the side of it. It does, however, squonk just fine - no issues. Note that there are 2 versions of the atty deck, and one is more concave than the other, which assists squonking even more.

As for the atty itself, I find that while it's still a flavour-first beast, the afc cap enlarges the chamber over the 'original' cap and mutes the flavour relative to that design. Still good, mind, but I actually prefer the non-afc cap with it.

It's a great little atty, BTW - sturdy, good connections. Even the afc version is not really for clouds, tho. IMHO, this is one of the 10 best small chamber squonking (when modded) atties ever designed for flavour.

Yeah, if you're comfortable with max VG, this would be a non-issue. Some folks, and I would be in this category, like a little PG in my juice. Straight VG feels heavy in the lungs and I prefer to get a little throat hit from the PG, rather than increase the nic content for the same effect. I guess I prefer a short, sharp shock of a hit to a more mellow voluminous draw, even when DL'ing.

Different strokes, and all that.

I have a mate at work who vapes 100% PG. For him, vaping is more of a 'pure' nicotine delivery replacement - no desire for clouds of any kind, which is also handy as he is the king of the inter-meeting stealth vape in the office.
