I needed to go the vouch route to get verified because I only had a card linked to my PPal account.

If you can't get the vouches, you prolly should consider the bank account link option. bushmaster's tip about getting a 'sacrifice' account to use as the link is not a bad idea at all. That said, you could link a current account today, get verified, and then switch to a new sacrifice account later.

Quite a few of us opened PayPal accounts because it was the only way to buy a REO in the old days. Yeah, you could purchase by check but who wants to wait for a check to get there and clear the bank while there's a REO lying there with your name on it, right?:)
I know it seems like a hassle now but you'll appreciate having a PP account sometimes.

I was verified through the ebay option and it took a few days for everything to catch up. It could be the bank account part is what theyre looking for, anyone can steal a card and claim to be you, but having a verified bank account attached gives everyone piece of mind that you are in fact you.

I don't understand it doesn't tell me if I'm verified how can I check? I've literally confirmed everything except bank account

Verification within ECF is (or at least was) done by, like, one dude in the UK. It's a manual process after you submit your request to be verified.

Unless he's changed the day, joker usually does them all really late our time on Sunday nights. @classwife can probably verify if this is still the time frame

I don't have a bank linked to my PayPal account. I can buy a Green Dot card, put how much cash I want on it, and transfer that balance to my PP account. I get the Green Dot card at CVS pharmacy. Yes, it costs like $4.95 to buy the card (any amount of cash) but then it's done. No further fees. The Green Dot card I buy is specifically for depositing money in your PayPal account. I do have a credit card linked, but I don't use the card.

Yeah I think I messed up, I didn't link my bank account but I linked a card. I just looked back at the pictures on ECF and looks like it's mandatory to link bank?

I looked into trying to do that a few years ago, and I don't want to link paypal to my regular bank account, not going to happen. I was going to set up another bank account, for the sole purpose of getting verified, but not for using the cash in that account to pay for anything. It was going to be a PIA to do all that, and I never had the extra cash to open a new account. I have a paypal account and it is useful, on some sites it is the only way to make the transaction, I use the pay now option with my credit card. I was reading the notary option last week, and while that would be a pain, it is an option that I would consider.

Your welcome, I know I am missing out on some deals here and there, so I would like to still do it. I really don't have anything to spend at all at the moment anyway, so it can wait. It just looked like you were going threw the same thing I was. :)

Depending on what you buy, Paypal can be a hassle. It has a policy that is not friendly toward e-cigs and that is why some vendors will use other means like Google wallet for example instead.

i refuse to link anything to my bank account, just because there's no need. When i buy things whether with PP or GW i just fund it from a credit card, because then there's no risk of a run on my meagre bank account.
You do not have to have a positive balance in PP to do this, you do it at checkout. So i have no money in PP say, and buy what i like, making the credit card pay. Credit cards have a lot of consumer protections.
