Happy Bday!!
Hey there! Glad to see you and best of luck with your House projects.Hey everyone! Hope all are doing well.
Anyone know where I can obtain the screw that keeps the plastic insert in REO mods fastened to the back of the battery compartment? I am currently missing my screw. It must of fallen out the squonker hole. Plz halp.![]()
For which REO model?
KAS
It's an older grand. I just need to know what the dimensions are and whatnot. I can use it without the screw obviously but it'd be great if I could get the screw at a hardware store or figure out the dimensions and order it. I know nothing about screws though!![]()
I thought that I might have had some spares, and while I do have 2 of them, I really don't want to part with them. I have 2 grands, and only 2 spare screws. If no one else speaks up, I guess I could try to figure out what size they are, these are really some tiny screws. I did try to measure the length and it looks like 13/16" long, I am not sure I have any way of figuring out the diameter though.
Sorry not much help, I know.

Well that gives me something to go on. Maybe if we figure this out we can add it to the REO components superthread. Yeah that 13/16" length is helpful. Yeah I wouldn't want to ask anyone to part with their spares considering the circumstances of the mod being discontinued and the way volatile legality of the market right now. I just have to figure out where I'd go to ask the right questions lol.
I forgot I had a small manual set of calipers. The length is 20mm, In metric the marks don't line up for the diameter, but fractional it says 1/16" on the outside of the threads. I don't remember how threads this small are measured, then there is the threads per inch thing.

This is great man thanks! I did a google search and learned that miniature screws are measured in "Unified Miniature" thread size or, "UNM" apparently. I'm going to e-mail a couple of these UNM fastener companies with the dimensions you've listed above and see what I get back lol. If I can get a straight answer and it works out, I'll buy a bunch and everyone here can have some.
My notes say it's this size:It's an older grand. I just need to know what the dimensions are and whatnot. I can use it without the screw obviously but it'd be great if I could get the screw at a hardware store or figure out the dimensions and order it. I know nothing about screws though!![]()
My notes say it's this size:
#2-56 x 7/8" Phillips Drive Flat Head Grade 18-8 Stainless Steel Machine Screw | Fastenal
McMaster-Carr
Have never ordered to confirm tho.
Edit: However measuring one shows 13/16" total length?
This is for a Grand bought in 2015
Where is Rob when you need him?![]()
