Back in the day of pure VG, Boba's was rich and ultimately satisfying. These days our gear is tuned to a different vape experience. Jus for the curio, can you tell us Billy what you're vapin on?

Good luck. :)

Most recently I've been doing very well with the Innokin Zenith MTL tank, with the factory 0.8 ohm Kanthal coil heads. But also fairly recently, with the newer Boba's Bounty juice anyway, I've used the Siren MTL RTA, Kayfun Mini v3 MTL RTA (clone) and the Vaporesso Estoc Mega - using the 0.5 ohm ceramic coil heads. Most of the MTL RTAs had 0.5 ohm to 1.2 ohm or so SS316 TC builds in them. Usually those devices topped either an iStick Pico (for TC), Vaporesso Swag (for wattage mode) or 3D printed Rebel Vape DNA 75 box mod (for either mode).

I have not used anything much like the original Nautilus Mini, iClear 16 clearomizers or m400 series e-liquid cartridges, that I used to vape Boba's Bounty on back in the day, for a couple of years now. Those would have had power supplied to them via either an m400 series (cigalike) battery, eGo type ("fixed" voltage) battery, iTaste VV v3 or iStick Mini 30. In between using all of those devices, I've also tried a few DTL sub ohm tanks, but none were to my liking, and I wasn't really vaping Boba's Bounty anymore by then anyway.

As an aside, I would not recommend the Vaporesso Swag, as it does not allow setting the wattage below 30W in TC mode, and a lot of newer, good MTL tanks don't fit on it, unless you are okay with a 2ml or so juice capacity. The Rebel Vape DNA 75 was kind of an expensive curiosity purchase that turned out to simply not be worth the cost. It is solid and does SS TC well, but that is about it. The same performance can be gotten in a good, smaller package for a lot less dough. I barely use it anymore. The Vaporesso Estoc Mega tank, which uses ceramic coil heads, promised to be a decent, though airy draw, non-RTA MTL tank, but really ended up disappointing, despite much fiddling. The factory ceramic coil heads just retain too much heat, especially when MTL chain vaping, making the tank difficult to consistently vape well in either TC or adjustable wattage mode - pretty much defeating the supposed benefits of using the tank and its factory coils.

I am now getting into using a Siren v2 as my latest MTL RTA, but it is too soon to tell how well it will workout for me. It doesn't seem to have the leak issues of the original Siren, which is good because that tank was otherwise a very, very good, affordable MTL RTA.

Thanks for the thorough reply. I was most interested in the coil config as today we're using a lot of high power multi-wire even for beginners. I'm not impressed with the vapor density achieved unless you really crank them. Your profile suggests you're getting a similar result to what you were used to, just more of it.

So I'm less inclined to presume it's the hardware at the root of any perceived diff in flavor result. If anything in explanation I'd attribute this maybe the seemingly innocuous change to less than 100% VG which I believe was particularly special about the original Boba's for such a nuanced recipe. A great many of our favorite juices changed formulations in recent years to exclude certain dubious components and interestingly ended up VG/PG mixes.

One notable example was Johnson Creek's reformulations which frankly were horrendous by comparison and especially the VG/PG variants. To me, they did not taste or smell the same.

Since I build wind profiles to target specific juices, I often ask myself, just what are they mixing for? It wouldn't seem that it's actually what we're using. But hey, that's just me.

My inventory has everything from 17.5-25W MTL tank variants to very high power W/TC mods and every kind of mech and RDA/RDTA in between. Dark tabs are my fav, complex recipes all the rest.

Good luck Bill. :)

I used to vape boba nack in the days and for me the new one is exactly the same.
The only issue is that given how materials involved, we consume more liquids, and 40 dollars for 100ml is rather expensive.
For Boba's you could snag up one of the fantastic MTL RTAs that have come out, particularly the Berserker. It is great for flavor and very juice conservative :)

I have tried a few ways to get the most and the best so far that I have came up with is sqounking with a single coil flavor chasing rda such as the Ouimer Wasp or Hadaly, built at .30-.40 at about 50-60 watts and replace the wick after about 20 ml. and coil after 2-3 dry burns. Tanks are not a good option for me, even rta's they just seem to gum up to fast. Back in the day I was rebuilding protank coils daily to enjoy Boba's, dripping and sqounk are my favorite ways to really get the most out of the flavor from these two great flavors. btw they do taste the same to me if not better because of better options for tasting now.

I'm vaping on an Origen Little 16 single parallel coil that comes in at .43 ohms. It's wicked with readyxwick. Taste is superb.

Yep, nothing like RxW verticals. Run the 22's tho. Also 454's as almost as expressive of flavor make more volume with just a bit more difficult a build. Odly I've never run Boba's on verts and you point out that glaring omission. Thanks!

Good luck. :)

I personally have exclusively vaped nothing but AVE juice for the past 3+ years. Due to comments in this thread I looked around and ordered 360ml of another "premium" juice for $25. I was shocked to see how much juice prices have dropped since the last time I shopped around. I hope AVE eventually follows this trend.

My first 30ml bottle was delicious stuff. My second bottle has this weird rotted vegetable thing going on.... looks like AV is going to be a hit or miss situation again.
