Hi Guys and Gals,

If you want to know what the TR-005 Trustfire charger for the 26xxx batts looks like, just do a quick Google search and you'll see a few photos. Didn't want to link to any stores on David's forum so DIY.

However, the important part:

- Model: TR-005
- Color: Black
- Plastic case material
- Input: AC 110~240V 50/60Hz
- Output 1: 3.0V 1500mA
- Output 2: 4.2V 1500mA
- Can charge 25500/26650/26700/18650/16340 battery
- Over-voltage/over-current/short circuit protection, battery reverse polarity protection
- 2-flat-pin plug type (123cm cable)
- Comes with Chinese/English manual

SOOOO...at warp speed, this thing'll charge the AW 26500 in under 2 hours and the 26650s in 2-3 hours, I THINK, ideally. However, a reviewer stated 3-5 hours for 26650s but I don't think he was doing IMRs, which should charge faster. Also, as far as battery chargers go, this thing actually looks pretty cool and modern. Heck of a charger for the price, it sounds like, anyway. But at that rate, I would only charge the big batts. Here's a review:

DIMENSIONS:

Total Length: 13.5 cm
Width: 52 mm
Height: 35 mm

Pros: ★★★★

Cheap
Fast charging at 1.5 amps (most others ive seen are 0.5 or 1 amp)
Good build quality and finish
Comes in a nice box
Internation input voltage can be used world wide 110-240V 50-60HZ
Good starter for people who want to get into 26650 flash lights
over voltage/current protection (claimed)
short-circuit and battery reverse polarity protection (tested)

Cons: ★★★

Basic
Charger will only charge at 1.5 amps good for large batteries like the 26650/26700/25500 and top shelf 18650,s like panasonic, redilast and awa IMO. I would not charge a 16340 at 1.5 amps IMO.
USA only power cord (i used an old AU printer power cord with no problem)
Cheap
If you dont slide the (-) negitive contact near the base of the charger it jams on its metal slide
Can not test mAh, IR or voltage on its own

Summary: ★★★★

Good charger relatively fast, Ive had this one going for two days and all night non stop (not recommended to leave any chargers charging or discharging overnight or unattended) with no problems, its kept all the magic smoke in. From what i can tell is the charger ramps down as the battery nears full like most chargers, but if you leave a battery in the charger once charged and the green light is on there might be a very very small trickle charge coming through, but all the batteries Ive tested stop before 4.2 volt.

Test Cells End Voltage: ★★★★

Trustfire 26650 4.18 volt
Trustfire 26650 4.18 volt
king kong 26650 4.19 volt
king kong 26650 4.19 volt
king kong 26650 4.18 volt
king kong 26650 4.19 volt
NCR18650A 18650 4.18 volt
NCR18650A 18650 4.17 volt

I would add to that, we have more TR005 chargers on order and they should be back in stock by weeks end!

Also, it looks like i have found a source for IMR 26500 batteries!

...and if you use coupon code "Superbad" you get 5% off of your battery and charger orders AND a chance to win one of SuperDave's newly introduced, supersleek SS Tanbur t-tips. :)

Those Tanbur Contour tips are sweet. I was looking at them the other day and had put one in my cart.... Hope the special lasts until the 26500s show up.

Hello All - I'm going to soon join the club and place my order. I email David, but wish that I found this thread first because it answered most of my questions.

I’d like to see an extension sleeve which would allow us to use the Kick with the 26650 battery; that combination would be out of this world!

I also ordered the Bullie-smoker A2-TM rebuildable atomizer too. I’m hoping this will look sharp with the Shockwave! But, I’m wondering if I’ll need a 510 to 510 adaptor to ensure the connection is made and clear the juice well. David is going to email me back to let me know. I’ll post his answer.

Question for David:

I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about the different grades of stainless steel (medical grade stainless steel, etc…) and wanted to ask if Super T uses any lead in their stainless steel products? I don’t see the risk, but again I’m not smart enough to have an opinion on it. Can you help us understand the different grades and safety?

Yes, the bullie-smoker A2 should work fine. Super T uses lead free 300 Series SS—austenitic chromium-nickel alloys which is commonly used in medical instruments, silverware, guns, knifes, cookware etc... Also, i may do up a screw on sleeve too for the kick in addition to the drop in one that is included. Also, I've secured a source for IMR 26500's.

You guys probably know already, but the discount code only applies to batteries and chargers, not the hardware.

That's still a good deal since I bought the two different batteries and the charger. But I'm not worried, just can't wait to see the unslotted prototype :)

So, David, are we any closer to an ETA on the shipment of the first Shockwave? And how many do you estimate will ship per day once you start? Cheers, Scott

No knew news since i last updated after my meeting with my machinist: He's doing up the updated protoypes and was going to have those done in approximately 2 weeks time frame (so they should be done shortly), after that and assuming everything checks out , we'll roll into full production which will take the shop about a week to manufacture them all. Exact daily output on my end is to be determined.

That's really weird - when I click the link it takes me right to the SKU with no crazy warnings like that at all. Your welcome to visit the Deal Extreme site and search for SKU 94487 on your own and not use the link.
