That's right. I was told that not every package will get caught. But he said that you are taking a risk that you won't get your order and/or your money back.

Well at least that's a partial relief... So we're still gambling every time we order from the US or China, only now there's more at risk.

ill donate $ to vendors that are willing to ban together to take legal action .all should have an option on their websites to donate for the legal costs when placing/paying for orders they can pool donations together instead of paying solely out of their own pockets. if the vendors are going to ban together and fight its up to us to help them one way or another

Yep, that's why I liked the approach OpenMedia took. They rallied all of the smaller resellers, pooled their resources together and accepted donations as one entity. I certainly felt a lot more comfortable donating to a structured organization rather there a little here and there to a few suppliers.

I really feel for all Canadian Vapors. Wish there was something we could do in the US to help. I definitely hope that there is some good news on the horizon. It just seems as though they don't want us to be healthy. This is just beyond my comprehension that we as citizens, of any country, make the decision to give up cigarettes with a healthier option that may help us live years longer, and they want to outlaw THAT ! Do they not look at the statistics of deaths per year relating to smoking habits ?? Like I said, I wish there were something we could do to help.

Well technically :p

Your residents close to the boarder come across with supplies, our residents close to your boarder will receive them and then ship to the rest of us

But in all honesty this issue seems to keep coming up, I just wish it was over once and for all.

Okay, spoke to him some more. Health Canada has ordered all ecig related products to be denied at the border. They're not seizing them but are denying entry and returning them to the US.

Sorry for peppering the thread with updates! Last time I promise!

F%$&@#% those %&#$@*% sons o' %$&^%& %$^% *&^*$#%@ in their #@$^%$ festering %&^@$# %$&%$ and a narwhal, too!

Well, y'know what? I've dealt with a few reputable, Canadian-friendly dealers who've done right by their shipments across the border, and I'm going to continue to do so, and HC can go %&*# their #@%$*&# with a buttered baguette.

What really sucks is that this will invariably affect our Canadian suppliers as well. If all of their shipments are seized, we're screwed every which way.

Exactly. That's my biggest concern. I have family in the US that can send me stuff person to person, but I don't want to rely on them for all of my orders.

Besides, I like dealing with Jack, Ian, Saby et al. All things being equal, I'd much rather spend my Canadian dollars with Canadian companies.

rachelcoffe your explanation makes a lot of sense of the situation. I am too new to vaping to know
all that has happened since 2009. If someone wrote a synopsis of that and posted somewhere it
would be an interesting read. My take from what you wrote is our suppliers need some pressure
to get their act together and protect us their customer base.

so how about this for a start or am I off the mark?

I propose that every time anyone orders from a Canadian supplier demand that they form up an association to implement regulations and deal with the HC threat. Inform the supplier that as soon as it is formed display it's logo and as my business will be only going to members of that association. Tell them to make it happen fast.

It's getting worse by day... we need more vapers and spreadings of unaltered knowledge about pv's.
I've been telling everyone I meet about e-cig and the government's propaganda.
My boss, friends & family, and even my students...
The real truth must be spread wide so when the time comes there'd be enough support.
Something we can easily do without a cost.

I am suprised HC isn't considering the 'harm reduction" e-cigs have over other tobacco products. This may be a starting point with them since they allow nicotine to be ingested in various ways for tobacco cessation programs.

Lastly , of course, since it's Canada - There's always the HR Tribs over nicotine access......lol

Whether or not they are aware of or even believe the harm reduction potential of E-cigs (one never knows what the opinions of the decision makers are in this regard) is largely irrelevant at the moment. Before all else, this is an issue of control, of regulation, of "If we can't control it, you can't have it." You could show HC all the data in the world showing E-cigs to be orders of magnitude safer than cigarettes, but until they get the regulatory control that they want (which is as much a function of how much we allow them to take) they don't even want to see it. They don't care. Give them regulatory control, and fight to make sure that it's fair, and then they'll start thinking about health risks.

They don't care about harm reduction, they care about tax money and lobbyists.

Both of which the other NRTs provide in spades, and endlessly since their success rates are deplorable.

I'll keep on the ecigs, run my own nic across the border if it comes to it.

If my government wants to make me a criminal for it fine, at least in jail I won't have taxes extorted as bad for 80% of stuff I don't use.

I suspect they're just banging drums and using other scare tactics as usual and it'll just dissapate like as much smoke in time.

To me it's just another example of why socialism is made of fail, it's just slavery with widescreen HD TVs.
