Last month I suggested to Bill that some stainless steel tanks for the Slim and Dbase tanks would be nice. So far he has posted the picture of the one for the slim tank. I like it and will probably order one with the Pro slim tank at some point.

Solves the Pluid issue.

I think that link goes to the right post if you're using a wew browser. He said they'd be on the store very soon.

As stated, you need a snug fitting drip tip. By Leo has several drip tips there. Str10, Str20, Nail, etc. Some glass ones have dual orings. You can use the single oring ones especially if it's a new(ish) oring. What you can do there to get a better grip is to wipe off any juice on the oring, and any in the top of the sophia (juice and condensation). That will help get a better grip.

Boy, did I pull the trigger~!

First order, and it's my largest vapor order second only to the one made at ProVari. Got everything I could at ByLeo, and then got extra cups, pre-made coils, and red O-rings from GreekVapes.

It'll be interesting to see
(A) which order arrives first
(B) how long it takes from Greece to Ohio

Now, if I have any $$ left, I need to go to Stormy's for pre-made wire (what size again?), and what type of cotton balls do I buy?

There seems to be so many ways to make coils. This will be completely new to me, and my hands don't work the best, would one of you give me a blow-by-blow on building my first coil please? Lastly, how do I tell that it's time to re-wick?

Yeah. I kind of got busy with a few obvious reasons last night so just threw that pic up

The wires used in most of mine are premade wires. I await a welder so this is what I use for now.

The ceramic there is stock. It has not been modified at all. The nail sits where it does in the photo and I leave the nail in while I thread the wire and make the connection to the base. Once it's secure, I twist the nail out, do the dry burn, and thread the wick in.

Now. If it's a modded ceramic, made wider slots, the nail can rest lower in the ceramic. A dremel will open the slots allowing the same nail to sit lower.

Does anyone having experience with re-using the ceramic cups (to build new coil/cotton) that come with the ready-made coils? Are they still okay or do they loose something with use. Peter C., I have yet to rebuild the Sophia but when I rebuild for my Reo, I use organic cotton. I don't boil it (some do as it makes it easier to handle perhaps or gets rid of some impurities?). I change the cotton when my taste buds tell me. Sometimes every few days, sometimes longer. You will know. It's all about the taste IMHO. Also, I have learned that a little cotton goes a long, long way.

Absolutely. Reuse those cups. :)
If you're changing flavors drastically you may need to soak it in pure grain or vodka to mellow. Some flavors that hold badly may not mix with others. Pluid I would imagine after being used would leave a nasty taste behind for a cheesecake after.

Cotton balls I don't boil. I do get organic cotton balls.

Thank you Yankee and Chadsmo! Yep, I think Ill keep my cups that I use for Djarum clove juice separate :)
Next, I think I would like to re-build with ready-made wires (and organic cotton). I've read on the threads about Stormy's. (yankee's comments about burning, etc). Any thoughts on the best place to order from and types (long, short)?
Good day!

Just FYI, these are the wires I bought.

http://stormysvaporcellar.com/oc_1/index.php?route=product/product&path=98_68&product_id=805

The are NOT the ones that are black on the resistance wire. I am pretty sure that they are the same wires Yankee uses. In my personal experience, they would not work on the Sophia + ceramic cup. The NR wires made the connection too tight on the center pin, and I destroyed several ceramics.

I have no trouble using a ready made coil and cup on the Sophia with a known NR of 32g. I also have no trouble with the ready wires in other attys that require a ceramic cup. It only seems to be the combo of the ready wires and MY Sophia.

Clearly, my case is certainly the minority, but I wanted you to be aware in case it happens.

Thanks Yankee and for the "heads-up" Akdare. If i have a similar proble I know who's shoulder to cry on. I've had one of those "unique" problems too. I have yet to get a consistently wonderful vaping experience with my Sophia (a few hrs. a time for sure). I'm using a Djarum clove liquid which I love and I think it might be the culprit. Per history, this flavor "eats" atties :-(. I'm going to clean her up and try her with another liquid. After trying everything else these last 2 weeks, it seems like the next indicated step. Looking forward to the next step :)
