I'm having much better luck with my second SVD. It's turned off on me a few times, but I think that may be because I'm ultra cautious not to press the button too hard and I accidentally press it three times rapidly (not putting much pressure on it).

There have been a couple times that I was getting "non" readings on perfectly good coils, but I believe it's because the iClear X.I glassos can tend to drip a little onto the brass connection if you don't draw just right (too hard and it leaks, too light and it pops and burns). I cleaned off the connection and everything went back to normal.

Still, I have another spare, just in case.

Overall, I'm very happy with my SVD, and I haven't had any desire to purchase any other mods. I have a pocket in my purse just for my SVD, so I even use it for me out-and-about mod.

I had an evic for 9 months , and dropped it, which popped the head off. 3 months ago I bought an SVD. It continually shuts itself off, or doesn't heat when the button is pressed. Is this an unreliable piece, or am I doing something wrong. Technical problems seem to be the Achilles heel of my vaping experience. Its frustrating!

Unfortunately it seems issues with the SVD are more common than I had hoped for. I'm on my second one as well and it has been working great. However, I have not used it nearly as much as I did my first one which broke after one month. The firing switch on the first one stopped working properly.

After some time reading this thread and speaking to others who have purchased an SVD I think I know what at least part of the issue may be. It seems the ones that perform well and don't have nearly the issues others have were purchased from authorized Innokin dealers. My first one was purchased on eBay and even came with an authentication sticker. I think even with that sticker some of these are factory seconds. The second one I bought was from an online retailer who was an authorized dealer and I have had no problems with this one.

I could just be talking out of my .... though so take it for what it's worth. :)

Regardless these things are having way too many issues. Which really sucks because they are very nice APV's otherwise. It seems that button is just not sturdy enough. I am kind of surprised there hasn't been a class-action lawsuit regarding these yet quite frankly.

Maybe it's not as bad as I think. Complaints are often more published then are praises I guess. For the record, I like Innokin. My MVP V2 has been nothing shy of perfect. My friend's VTR was not right out of the box. The battery door has never worked right. The latch is loose and opens on its own.

Sorry for the long post but it's frustrating to see so many people having issues with these devices especially since they are not cheap. And it's even worse when they are new to vaping and they have to deal with these issues that shouldn't exist.

Frustrated!!!

I can no longer recommend the SVD. Too bad because I would really like to.

I agree. The problems may have been addressed however we have heard nothing about or admitting a problem. I have put my 3rd one away while working. I too can't recommend it.

I went to a local shop looking for something new. Talked for a minute with the sales guy, and he suggested the 134. A little too ridiculously massive for my lifestyle, and I'm in there today because a product from that same mfgr failed on me. Ended up with a Vamo V3. If this fails quickly, its a Provari, and done.

The good news is that as of the 5th, I haven't had a stinkie in a full year. :)

i have had the svd for a short time, what are the other options like dna?

I read people are saying 30-50 watt is the new thing, do that produce better taste?

I have been using spinners and those things since I stopped smoking 2-3 years ago. Just recently got the mvp 2 and svd, and so far I like them.

svd with five charged 18650 lasts me a week, but if theres something better I would try it.

I haven't come across any other mod that I'd prefer to use above the SVD 1. I'm perfectly happy with it, and they're cheap enough on eBay that I can replacements as necessary. My second SVD has been working flawlessly so far.

CoolFire 1 mods are still available even with the CoolFire 2 being out, so I don't think they're outright drop the SVD 1 in favor of version 2.

And if you're not sub-ohming, I see no reason for a 20-30-50-100 watt mod. I use my SVD at 8.5 watts. Period. Anything more, and things taste burnt.

Hey all, I have gotten dizzy trying to read back through the pages but haven't found the answer I am looking for. My Other Half had an SVD, had it for about 2 months, and it is acting up. Doesn't seem to be quite what people are describing with the dreaded button issue, but maybe?
Ok so pop in a fully charged 18650 (she has 3 different ones so it isn't the battery), take a few puffs, then it starts acting up. Either no vape or pitiful vape, as if the battery is dying. Check the battery, it's still perfectly charged where it should be. I have been messing with it and watching the button light, and it does every now and then flicker or not come on but that's rare. Pressing the button harder doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. Yes she pushes the button for 5 seconds before loading a fresh battery. Tried 3 different tanks and does the same thing, so it's not that either.

Any ideas? Going from that back to an ego style battery is not sitting real well with her lol.

if you don't think it's the button, you can try a few things

clean the atty pin on the tank w/ISO

clean all threads/tube, top of 510 pin and contacts with ISO, even the spring contact in the switch

also when tightening up the SVD if you get it too tight it will act up sometimes, tighten to a good snug then back off 1/4 turn.

maybe this will help or someone else has some ideas, wish ya the best tho

I will give that all a try, thank you. Is ISO alcohol?

My SVD is arriving today and I haven't bought batteries for it yet. What ones should I be looking for in 18650? IMC, IMR? What Mah? Protected or non? Button or flat? Through reading I know to stay away from any "xxxxfire" brands and I have the Nitecore i2 charger.

As you can tell I'm still wet behind the ears when it comes to vaping. Thanks in advance

you want 18650 IMR's 2000mAh "non protected", and RTD is a very reputable vendor and imo AW are the best.....would pick up at least 2 or even more.
don't skimp on a charger get a good one like one of these

    or

    http://101vape.com/batteries-chargers/35-efest-luc-multi-function-smart-charger.html

they have 2 or 4 bays, take your pick
