There have been a lot of button problems reported with the SVD. I know I have had my share. Something strange hit me today. That is button pressure. I noticed there is a click when you begin applying pressure to the button and it fires. Other mods you hit a hard stop at some point. The SVD gives one a mushy or spongy feel going past the fire point. It got me thinking the harder pressure may be moving the board which could be leading to all these problems. I just checked my Cool Fire I and it does hit a hard stop. Any thoughts?
My SVD's button is clicky feeling and comes to a hard stop.

Quick question guys, since the package comes without a "scratch and check", how can you know that you got the original?

Well, in the fasttech forum, they claim that if something has "Genuine" or "Authentic" it truly is, but they remove the scratch and check or pages from booklets that allow you to register to avoid having issues with the manufacturer for selling substantially less than the lowest MSRP.

So you are saying that it should have a scratch if I bought it from a normal vape shop?

Should: Yes

however, the fact that it doesn't have one doesn't mean it is not legit.

The authentication system just started a few months ago. So many older stock are still around. I have never heard of a fake SVD. Interesting though a local shop here has SVDs with their name on them. By the way if someone really wanted to fake something fake the label. Run the same one off for all of them. Use a legitimate number. It does not check the unit itself. Perhaps Innokin would catch on if the same number gets checked a few thousand times but who knows.

I have two svd's. The first one I bought has been fine, the second one that I haven't used has a weak fire button. The button in these things are their week point I think. Shame too because that means the coolfire one will probably have similar issues. The second one has a weak click and a mushy feeling to it. The one I use every day gives a hard click with no mush. Quality control issues I guess. I'll probably never use that second one anyways, I received a provari for my birthday,

He is a quote from a message on the subject I posted earlier:

man after reading this whole thread i'm getting a little nervous, just got my SVD last Monday..have an Aspire BDC nova S Pyrex Tank and a Nimbus...so far everything is great, my fire button is tight & has a hard stop when pressed....i seem to reach for the SVD more than my SID......i put an airflow control adapter on my SVD to save my threads seem to be working and doing a good job cause everything on top is tight...the vape production is awesome just hoping i got a good one and she holds up...

I just purchased a SVD on ebay for $42.99. I have never used one, but I came here hoping for high reviews. I currently have a Lavatube that is over a year old.

I like the resemblance of the SVD to a lightsaber hilt(yes I am a big SW nerd). I looked at an SVD in a local vape shop after purchasing mine on ebay and now I am concerned that my hypertank is going to be monstrous sitting on top of the SVD.

Input, thoughts, advice? All would be greatly appreciated.

Did you say light saber?

Be careful with the switch. Only push it to the point of firing and no further. I have had two fail with switch problems. They will go past that point of firing with a mushy feel before stopping. I am convinced it is moving the board. I have been careful with this last replacement and so far no problems.

This is likely good advice for all mods -- pushing harder isn't going to make it heat better... When it fires, it fires (in most circumstances).

I think it is just a natural reaction to push until it stops. I kinda like that mushy feel too like no other switch I have used. My Cool Fire I has the same style button and possibly switch but you hit a hard stop once it fires.

My SVD button still shuts off very occasionally, I'm not two worried about it but my switch is not at all mushy either Dan. On pressure to the switch it immediately clicks, going into a hard stop. Also my box has the scratch off serial # but I purchased in Canada from a retailer who had a good reputation and guaranteed it as genuine.

PS: Brook and Dan,
Ive taken your advice. Got the Innokin iTaste MVP body 2.0, Innokin itaste VV V3.0, KangerTech EVOD eGo 1.6ml MT BCC, Nautilus, Kanger 1.5 ml mini pro 2, lots of replacement coils, a car lighter plug/charger and some great sounding juice in the cart over at Canvape ready to go.Still love my SVD especially for around the house, but now I will be set for when I am out taking Photo's my other hobby and other events I do.
Again thanks for all your help! :D

Now here is the deal. We expect a complete report on which unit works out the best for you!

That's what Innokin checks. The correct response on their website is "This security code does not exist", which has confused at least one person: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/511258-innokin-security-code-question.html

If there was a clone going round with the same number you would see: "this security code has been used 3932 times"

lol I had to laugh when I read this sorry Brook lol...

Dan, not to worry bro, you will have a full report :)

I was kinda going for a laugh... I like to point out the obvious and make it seem like some sort of epic revelation.

You sound like you have an awesome start. I'm about to order a Nemesis clone, ohm meter, kayfun and switch magnets for the Nemesis all from Slowtech... likely a kick 2 at some point as well, but as it is, spending enough to have my girl kill me for spending so much more, especially as I've only had the SVD for a week.
