My poor mailman. I just checked on my SVD order, it's out for delivery today. But so are my 4 bottles of juice from Mt Baker, a tank, another box from mt baker, this poor guy has about 5-6 boxes to deliver to me today.

ROFL! I have 5 diff vapemails out there in the ether, plus a pkg of my medication (inhalers I get direct from GlaxoSmithKline)... he's gonna be working hard this week! :D

Although, the one from Hong Kong will probably be a couple more weeks; it just got shipped "today" (saw the notice late last night, but that was "today" in China!). So probably just 4 vapemails + meds for this week. ;)

As much as I like the features of this SVD, I have to say that from all I'm reading here, it would seem the possible cons outweigh the pros by a pretty good bit. I've seen some posts that describe the Vamo as "junk" which is why I kept looking around for possibles that were somewhat close to my price range, and the SVD fits that, but with all this about it doing weird things, or doing nothing at all... I just dunno. Although it would take a long time getting here, maybe ordering one of these from FT really is the best way to get it, because of the warranty.

My mail person will be busy this week too.

29 gauge kanthal
Nemesis magnet switch upgrade
Nemesis
kayfun
Mini drill bit set
Nicoticket order
PT2 airflow base
Cartos from surevapes
Ibtanked 19mm XL setup

I'm sure I'm forgetting somethings, but currently have 9 vape mails that will arrive within the next 7-10 days.

My SVD just came in. Here's my new trio.

Wow... if I do get one of these, my setup and yours will be almost identical -- is that a black or chameleon vv3? Is that a dripper on the SVD? I probably won't have one of those, I find dripping a huge PITA except for tasting new or testing steeped.

That is a dripper on the SVD and a black vv. Use the dripper for tasting purposes only. Ibtanked on each of the vv.

Will repost a photo once I have the 19mm XL on the SVD... SUPER tall then.

To be fair, it is also dependent on your taste. I used to follow that chart pretty closely and keep it under 8 watts to stay in the green and just wasn't getting the vapor production or flavor that I wanted.

Also, the stock pt2 coils don't always play nice at higher wattage than 5-7 or 8 watts without giving a burnt taste. I've actually taken to rebuilding them with 28 gauge kanthal and a cotton wick and that thing spits vapor and flavor at a much higher wattage than would've previously been ideal.

I have a couple liquids that I used to vape between 7.5-8.5 watts that I'm now using between 12-13.5 watts and the flavor and vapor is INSANE.

Glad to know I'm not the only one "pushing the envelope"... according to that chart and my usual taste preference, I'm *always* right on the borderline between green and purple -- for me there's a really short step between "good vape" and "burnt!". But rebuilding coils could let me run it a little higher, without a burnt taste? Hmmmmmmmm... glad I ordered that kanthal, now! :D

Andria

EDIT: pushing envelope: coil registering 2.3 Ω, iTaste set at 8.5w -- right on the border! But it tastes good so I'll keep it there.

Yeah. It's all a matter of taste. My carto tank I'm usually hovering between 9-9.5 watts.

With my denser liquids in my pt2, I'm now using between 9.5-11 on the vv and higher, 12-13 w on the SVD.

My less thick liquids I can pump to the max with rebuilt Kanger coils and have no real degradation. You just need to be sure the cotton is FULLY saturated. Otherwise you get that burnt cotton taste (tastes quite awful). Airways work your way from lower wattage up until you hit your ideal taste.

I can see this becoming an addiction within an addiction lol... Oh and luckily my wife is taking it all in stride. :headbang:

Heh.. same here with the ol man... I guess it's actually good that stinkarettes are SOOOOO stinky, their total absence is like "ok, whatever you want!" (subtext: "as long as there continue to be NO CIGARETTES!") :D

I'm naturally a very miserly person... I keep the budget, and I keep it ON TRACK, and I got to wondering how I was able to buy all this junk, just hand over fist, I certainly never could do it before... it's just that NOT buying $88 worth of cigarettes out of each paycheck provides so much leeway!!! I feel like a McD's commercial, but I'M LOVIN' IT!!!!!!!!!

See, I'm under water right now with my budget for e stuff. Used to spend $40ish a week... 6 packs a week with special deals I'd just over $13 fire 2 packs (love working in a county where it is literally $4 a pack cheaper than the county I live in.) I pretty much have to cut myself off for the next 2-3 months to make up for this past months ridiculous spending.

1-2 more purchases and I can really stop ordering for awhile... Want to get the kick 2 and want to get a good tackle box or some sorry of box for organizing. My shoebox is completely full.

Yeah when I started replacing flavor wicks with the P&C cotton I started experiencing that, and YUCK!!! is the best thing I can say about it. I just started developing the habit of always taking a "priming" drag or two, before pressing the fire button; it seems to work very well. I suppose when I start rebuilding and thus have the cotton in the wick too, this will be an even bigger concern, so I'm glad I started developing this habit now.

My all-day every-day Virginia is very thin, 85% PG (approx -- I mix in a little bit of other flavors so it might be somewhat less than 85% after the mixing) so it's good to know I might be able to boost the power a bit more after I learn to rebuild; I don't want a vape that's hot enough to burn my lips, but I do want a substantial throat hit, and at my 8 or 9 mg level, already using a high % of PG, heat seems all that's left, to boost the TH.

My ol man gets paid twice a month... we always bought 2 pks of smokes at Walgreens every other day, for $11.02, so in a half-month, that was just about $88. Walgreens probably thinks the cigarettes finally got me. :D

So, there's that $88 we're NOT spending from each check, but I think a real boost for me at the moment was that $100 my mom gave me for quitting. I called her up on the 2nd smoke-free day, since I had made it so successfully thru a full 48 hrs with no cigarettes and no cravings. I think she didn't believe I could stick to it, so she goes "I'll give you $100 if you make it a month" -- thinking, I'm sure, that she'd never have to part with that $100. Fooled her! :D :thumb:

Gotcha. Yeah, then that's right around what I was spending every 2 weeks... Problem is my gf and I adopted a puppy so I'm not working the 10-20 overtime hours I was so it had greatly affected my bottom line. Btw, the puppy is well worth every penny lost out on from not working overtime.

We pretty much share out desires which led to the SVD. I hate to say it but the Sigeleli V3 & V5 do it closer to the mark.

Googling these Sigelei devices madly... they seem to cost a little more than the SVD, or maybe comparable... maybe this is what I should be looking at, instead of the SVD, with all these problems. I'd hate to pay $40-$50 for something and have it turn out to be a dud, or have to jump thru hoops to get it fixed or replaced.

That makes two of us :( I REALLY wanted the SVD but dangit this thread has TOTTALY put me off it..

I guess we can hope for that "fix" the others were talking about... if they come out with a SVD v2... they're apparently now on the 2nd version of the 3rd iteration of the iTaste vv/vw, so I guess it's possible.

I'd volunteer. The SVD is a fantastic device WHEN it works. Innokin is a very good company in my opinion. They've made updates to the vv v3 to improve an already very good device.

I use my SVD every night. I've noticed the power button being more persnickety as of late. Still works without issues, but I can tell it's not quite as responsive as it was 3 weeks ago. That being said, I still love it. My hope is another week or two without it breaking and then I know I'll have it awhile (should be getting my Nemesis/kayfun in the next 5-10 days so I'll have a different device that will be distracting me and greatly extend my SVDs life)

My SVD is coming up on 6 months now. Fire button went "soft" at about 3, but still fires pretty reliably. Never heard of one falling off, but who knows?

No other issues with it. I do happen to like the raised screen. Makes it easy to find with my thumb, and the fire button is then directly under my index finger. And I DO like the multi-button over the single button mods, easier to adjust, don't have to multi-click through menus to get to much of anything. And is there another VV/VW mod that lets you lock the setting?

Some have voiced a dislike of what they call the sharp edges of the tube, but if you're going telescopic, I think that's a fact of life.
