Yep...mine to..the button fires but can be pressed a wee bit more....that really does not concern me. It's not annoying.

When I first received the VMOD, the bottles were washed and allowed to dry.....I think overnight....not really sure though....it was a couple of weeks ago.... however no plastic taste.

The VMOD is not a ProVari, a GG, Katana, Touchwood or an Ali'i....might be a REO but I do not own a REO.
What it is ......is bullet proof.

A great PV for tossing in your pocket and taking her out for the day. I'm an equine vetranarian, being bumped and jostled, in and out of a pickup, bumped and jostled again........repeat. I have dropped the XL, I have intentionally tossed the XL when I needed my hand for something more pressing than a vape....kicked it once across a barn ally way (textured concrete)......and through this abuse ....always comes up vaping. Now I anticipate it's gonna' break ......I suspect it will be a plastic part...the bottom...innards...but it has performed, up to this point, magnificently for what I have asked it to do......to be a dependable PV I do not have to concern myself with while in the field. Mine has delivered.

It's strange that a bottle not being washed should cause a device to devalue so much. But the price point is not $120. It's priced correctly. And it's not a piece of glitz, it's a functional piece of gear that I evaluate as such.

The switch is lacking in finesse, no question, and so are some other things. Could it be done better but still be washable and adaptable to the wide range of batteries and atomizers/cartomizers? My personal quarrel is with the o-rings. But there's one important detail: the device functions fine without them, at the price of a little seeping along the atty barrel. No leaking. I expect the o-rings to be improved.

Being an engineer, I can take great interest in the details, but being a vaper, I especially want something that delivers lots of vape-hours and holds up without a lot of coddling. Drop in pocket: compact, huge battery, huge reservoir, unlikely to fail, no need to carry a whole kit of stuff -- that's a new one. Those of us that have been using Vmods for a while are trying to figure out the optimal this and that. Join us.

The reason for this post is to greet the new XL owners with a call to practicality. The Vmod XL is like an AK47. Simple and loose. Drop it in the mud, throw it in the sink, shake it out, reassemble, works every time. You can put just about any cartomizer or atomizer on it, and by hook or by crook it feeds and it vapes. You'll find out for yourself. Drop it out of a NASA spacecraft onto a cement surface ? ... get another, it's not $120.

Day 2 battery is still hitting like I first popped it in, Flavor and vapor production is an A+, No leaks, No having to drip while driving, No carrying a case full of stuff is right! this thing is just a handy gadget for sure! I like how everyone say's it reminds them of taking out a Mag of 9mm bullets when I take the sleeve off and they see the chassis.

I'm thinking simple but maybe people who are having issues with the switch should check the placement of the battery out and how it's compressed against the bottom spring. If it's compressed against the spring a certain way or angle the "give" on your switch might have a little play in it because of the length from the positive end of the BAt to the pin no? I've taken mine
apart and checked it out but no issues here. Just a thought.

Oh and thanks for the welcome. I plan on being pretty active here and asking q's to the guys and gals who know these things inside and out. Thanks for all your help everyone!

Wrt the button, I found it similar but more comfortable than another well known metal box. As with that unnamed mod, first time users often press too hard. It really doesn't take much pressure. After some use you get the feel for the spring throw. Length of the batt you choose will be a factor. My preference is the shortest of them all. :)

Got my o-rings in yesterday. It's been so long since I had one in there, that I'd forgotten the difference lol. At when I'm through the bottle of TV Butter Rum I have on there right now (nomnomnomnomnom) I'm going to pop on a Cisco 306 and try it.

You can pop a 306 on the VMOD? The cone will fit around a 306 drip tip?

My Newbie converts XL came in yesterday. I gave it to him today, along with an intro on taking it apart, filling and putting it back together. He's vaping Peppermint cough drop from Tasty Vapor on a SmokTech 1.7 carto which he has been using on my Ego's for the last month.

He is COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!! Ridiculous amount of vapor, and the flavour hit is out of this world.

I would not be surprised to see him in a vapor cloud for the rest of the day!

SMILEE!! You're almost there buddy!

How are they working for you? I'm intending on trying an AVE juice on one, after I attempt to run a bottle of VR4 through a 306. I got 1.5's
Funny you have asked this now....Just came into the house for lunch and pop........my 1.5 ohm atty died....i checked it on the provari and yeppers....dead atty.............so I placed a Vapage 2.5 ohm hybrid on and it is working wonderfully....I had not tried them yet so I'm giving them a whirl. The atty life expectancy is like what?? 2 weeks? I am satisfied and that is what counts :)
