Popping in to say hello VMODia! Everyone got their vape on?
I took karmakittie's advice and emailed Vapage yesterday about the crack... message back:
VMod has 6month warranty.... so i sent mine to RMA today.

don't worry, i have plenty of back ups..... just no bottom feeder, which i mainly use on the go.

iknow, but in poland ;)
This 1mm cos I do not agree, I could be wrong, but the eye less than 1 mm

Brian ("Skinny") is the guy who designed the Vmods and is in China half the time. He asked me to pass the info along. Maybe he meant "on both Vmods". Here is exactly what he wrote:

OD= 11mm
ID=9mm
Wall thickness= 1mm
One O-ring size is used for both applications

Sorry if i misunderstood. BTW he also said lubricating them with juice helps them last, they're getting a lot of them, and they're working on a different type of gasket.

OK, here is the specs for the other o-ring.

The "Vent-Stack" O-ring is the smaller one, here it is:
OD = 7.6mm , to find in store it would be more like 7.5mm
ID = 5.6mm, to find in store, it would be more like 5.5mm

smilee....I suggest NBR 70.....it is Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR)
NBR 70 is soft
NBR 80 not so soft
NBR 90 not soft but Hard

Size is yet to be determined................................ I think one will be 9 mm x 1.0 mm
D = 9,00 mm
d = 1,00 mm
See what I read on NBR:
No immunity: brake fluids based on glycols

It is true that liquid does not brake fluid, but the glycol is glycol

Maybe someone who spoke with Brian about orings to ask about the material?

Yo, Tat, you got a 1.5 ohm something on there, and he still be, like, gimme kick?

I dunno, with that. 357 on there mine's like too hot off the charger and makes like a clam the rest of the time.

I thought i was going to have to alcohol wash it, but after it sat overnight with a pool o' juice squirshed up, it's back in shape.
It's very important to let them rest, and to flood atties before resting, so it soaks stuff off the coil.

I don't know what to do about this XL of mine:?: Day in, day out, all I hear it saying is "C'mon Tat, get that kick thingy" :facepalm: I just hope he don't hear anything about new clothes:laugh:

The downside on the Kick was the ground spring. It seems like we have to do some hardwiring to get it to work..

Naw, I run Ikenvape LR(1.8) 901's, but I'm a flavor junky, and I found that perfect flavor for me is when the batt is ever so slightly drained:?: So i'd like to keep it at that PERFECT consistency:blush:

A simple piece of metal strap inside battery compartment, so the strap touches the grounding wire (that runs up the battery compartment) and creating a contact for the kicks spring should work perfectly(i'm thinking):w00t:

IMHO it is a tossup Fernand.

Specifications for Propylene Glycol/Glycerol call for:

EPDM: Perfect for water transmission systems. Meets ANSI/NSF Standard 61. Ethylene Propylene is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene. Ethylene-propylene-diene rubber is produced using a third monomer and is particularly useful when sealing phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids and in brake systems that use fluids having a glycol base.Good temperature range.
Temperature range: -65o to 300o F

Specifications for Vegetable Glycerin call for:

BUNA-N Nitrile This is most popular; all-around O-Ring. It has excellent resistance to petroleum-based products; hydraulic fluids; most silicone fluids; and fuels. Excellent compression set; resistance to tear and abrasion exhibiting high tensile strength. Not good against weathering. sunlight; ozone Good for hydraulic actuator seals; hydraulic pump seals; water pump seals; carburetor seals; transmission seals.
Temperature: -20 F to +250 F

I use 50pg/50vg and have been using BN on the USF with no leaks. There is one thing to consider however on the VMOD .... the proximity of the atty/carto to the oring.....it will be warm because of this......250F :confused: I have no clue.

I am miffed why so many are having problems with the O rings, the first Vmod XL is still running on the original set ( my Dad's daily vape) and they still look new!?! I am wondering if it is a type of juice issue, ie like the cinnamon in tanks issue....or maybe over tightening the collar down, either way it sure has me stumped.

Most orings are not sold by OD.....but by ID and width..... makes sense if you think about it ..... your inside diameter and thickness is usually what is important for a seal........ and the OD is just the ID + (2 X W) ....the 9mm x 1 mm would have a 11 mm OD.........so when your searching for them be careful your buying the proper ID X W.
Here is a link to a company I have used. The page is the metric size, BUNA-N Nitril material.
oringsUSA
but look around the site....more information than you would ever need concerning orings :)

@karma...

I bet he isn't trying every atty or carto on the block with it!

Mine was perfect for the first few weeks until I started trying out more gear. Then it went askew and broke. I'm using it with no real problems -- just moisture on the atty under the chimney. Sure, I'll replace it, but I'm in no hurry.

I believe it was said that the XL size was spec'd for atty's /carto's without the extra thickness of the paper wrap. It's my thought that using these (like I have) may scrunch it.

Plus, I'm sure I'm not the only vaper that finds a drip tip fits on one atty and not the next nearly as well---there are slight variations in size.
