If I had more free time I'd work on trying one of these diy mods for the Kick in the VMod XL. I've got two Kicks waiting for homes (been waiting 3 weeks on a tube mod from another vendor) so as soon as Vapage (or anyone) makes a drop-in mod for using the Kick in the VMod XL, I'll be ready to buy it.

I've already moded all of them for the kick so I can switch them out but I would still like to see vapage come out with some thing like a tube for the kick so any one could get up and running in seconds with no fuss just simple just plug and play

I tried making a tube mock up a few hours ago using a soda can which is pretty thin and it fits too tight.

Even if it's just a wrap/sleeve around the kick only (i.e. not around the battery) that connects to the negative lead?

not sure how is that going to work. I'm still trying to think of a way to get this working in a simplest form besides to the one I made already. Unless Vapage start lining the battery slots from the factory.

Now that would be cool, Chadster, and I wonder if that might be a happening thing. The more simple the better as far as I'm concerned. For those that don't know me here, I'm THE modder (ahem ahem). I was the one who could barely get the catch cup in!! Ahh, but that was SO version 1.

Fernand, oh Fernand? I'm also wondering what you mean by "the constant wattage theroy doesn't really work". Really? Will PM you. This is not the place for me to discuss another mod. ;)

Yes, I'm happy with my 4.8v batts and the dual charger (the one that indicates when they are cooked). It's rather quiet on ECF about those batteries, and I'm not sure why. From what I have read, you can run 4 NiMH cells in series to get 4.8V since each cell is 1.2V. This is a very safe configuration since NiMH cells do not have volatility issues like Li-Ion cells.

Yay, a change of subject :D. I thought that this thread has become The Kick Thread... Yes, what is with the FB like and Tweet? If we 'like' something will it go to our FB and will our FB profile then become visible here... I wonder?

I thought I explained what I meant about constant wattage, I don't think it's a sin to talk about it in connection with the XL and Kick. The "theory" is that you can set a wattage, say 9 watts, and a regulated wattage power source will work well for any carto or atty by regulating voltage to always get 9 watts. That also implies you don't need easy access to the adjustment pot or whatever. I was surprised at how many cartos and atties need a different wattage. I mentioned the case of the Turbo eGo Clear carto, not on the XL, but because it's 3 ohms, yet vapes very well on an eGo battery, around 5 watts. If you typically like 9 watt vaping, you find the ideal wattage on these to be maybe 5.5 watts. If you try to run one of these at 9 watts all you get is a brief "poof". So the "constant wattage theory" doesn't hold up very well, nor the use of a tiny trim pot that is hard to get at. There are some not so obvious factors at work in coils.

@Kat, I'm just trying these out now. How much vape do you get out of charge on those 600 mAh NiMH batteries, and what sort of atty do you use with them?

Thank you for your clarification, Fernand.

my 2 cents:

You prefer different atty's and carto's with different wattage/voltage levels.

Some, perhaps many, like various watts/voltages with different juices.

I'm one that tends to keep my equipment at about the same level, for everything.

The Kick lets me do that very easily.

I find that on my VV device I fiddle frequently, especially when using atty's. I can enjoy that, learn and experience. And, using it has confirmed my early conclusions. I really am happy with 3.7 volts and 2.0-2.5 atty's.

So, when I just wanna vape---give me a 3.7 feeder.

(And, I just gotta tell you -- as I'm still amazed. The consistent vape using the Kick has been great for me and exactly what I needed to help me fine tune my vaping. After a few days on my feeder I realized that I was never over or underfeeding nor feeling compulsed to change or clean an atty.)

Vape on...

Can someone please help me with a e mail adress for vapage, because the plastic on my XL has cracked and they dont seem to respond to the info@vapage mail adress.
they are close on the weekend. give it a day or two for them to respond. or if you can catch them on the chat its better than sending an email.

yeah, cannot send anything without having backups... and backups to your backups
They told me it's 4-6 weeks for warranty replacements, but that they usually send them before that. They have had mine since the 2/13 & I'm still waiting too. My Ego-T is keeping the edge off for now, but it really doesn't compare.
gotta say my XL has been in good company - provari, vvpv, reo mini, ego p/t - and holds it's own.
