The Vmod XL 18650 Bottom Feeding Mod from Vapage - Part 2

So time to start thinking about the New Year....rumours of variable something VMods have passed through this and other threads.

If you haven't gathered I am still enjoying my XL's and you know have to wonder if variable anything is needed on the VMod. With the LR atty's they produce. Would love to see an aluminum chassis, would drive up the price point but would give an even more solid device and hopefully sleeker given the strength of the material.

But we will see, hopefully soon ! Hint 1 year anniversary coming up end of January and have my fingers crossed.

Will be picking up a 14500 version as a minimum to celebrate that milestone and I dare say a couple of other toys of a rebuildable nature.

VW works great on these. I would have to see a VV VMod to believe it though. Not much room to work with inside.

I am throwing around the idea of a DNA12 under the bottle mod once the DNA20 comes out and the 12 is more affordable. Just picked up another XL and a 2.0 from the classifieds. I'm hooked on these beauties.

Oh yeah, speaking of VW, I still have a number of adhesive backed copper sheets left if anyone is toying with the idea of adding a Kick to the XL without a lot of modification. Let me know.

All I have done is twist a wire on the Kick spring loop and then twist the wire to the spring/negative.

I can easily add or remove it as I wish. OK can only use 18490/500's but to be honest apart from the first couple of months of owning the Kick rarely bother. Get a perfectly good vape out of the 1.5 atty's at 3.7. When the Shifu/Pro atty's come out at 3 ohm's may reconsider but till then....all good for me at least.

TB, nice offer on the copper sheets. I'm still old-schooling it with either a 2.0Ω Shifu slant on a 3.7v batt, or when I'm feeling REALLY wiggly, I'll toss in a 5v batt... still with the 2.0!

Today i started tests with kicked vmod and Sanyo UR18500F 1700mah! - for now working like aw imr 18490 1100mah, with longer battery life. Kick set on 8.

Oh snap. I was looking at something similar yesterday at Orbtronic and maybe the same thing. I have bought there before, and they don't deal with crappy stuff. Decent prices and they ship really fast.

I would not be me if I did not try , and so seriously that give current 3A , so with 8 watts no problem

I also use 18650 sanyo 2600 mah with the dna12 and it is good
generally I do not see much difference between aw and sanyo , only larger voltage drop under load , which at the kick does not matter

It was not about price but about capacity - 1700 is a lot more than 1100

Kick is a smart device If the batteries are too weak - can handle

I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays! I have a question; a simple one. I've been using my Vmod now for about 5 months, and I've been content to use Gorilla Juice this entire time, in the XL. I've been using GJ and Bobas Bounty for daily vape since I tried them soon after my first vape. I'm curious about what other excellent juices there are out there that are paticularly good in the Vmod. Maybe I'm ready to explore some, but I buy a lot of juices that frankly, I don't like much. Anyone else using one special juice? Seriously, no other juice but GJ has my XL known!!

I hope your XL finds a good home Racehorse. I have 2 extra kits myself.

PM me if anyone wants to trade it for a little vmod2.0...or supplies or parts or whatever.

I just recently noticed the GV attys myself. I'm thinking of trying them, curious about feedback myself. They're a good price and they look like good attys.

As far as your question about different e liquids to use in the VMOD? Welp, I'm sure it won't come as a surprise to you which one I'd recommend...

But any e liquid will work well in the VMOD. There's quite a few threads in the E Liquid section of ECF, and there is also a couple of "best of 2012 e liquid" threads where can you find out popular choices as these threads were polls/voting threads.
