Fisher My Pal!!!!

How ya doing?! Yeah, I couldn't stay away, but I figured out why I left the XL by the wayside in the first place. After awhile, the vape just turned soon mellow, it wasn't hitting the spot. I have now KICKED this little bugger and it's my best friend again. Glad you like the pics, I've made another leather cover, it goes all the way up....it has a collar, HA, and I covered the top area where the button is. I've started on the next one as I just don't seem to be satisfied yet. This time, everything, except the bottom and the drip tip (debating about the cone still), will be covered with leather. My switch date (09/13/12) will be on the leather as well as BIG MAC, somewhere, somehow. I've cut the leather for all but the cone, and am practicing on actually working the leather. Using ProSpecs, 1.5 ( not that the res matters much with the kick) and am enjoying every toke.

And to all you doubters out there, it is cold here in Cali. I mean, LA had its coldest morning in 20 yrs just a few days ago.....what was it Kat, like 55 degrees, lol. No really, here in NorCal, we are in the 20s in the early mornings. Not for long granted, gets to the 50s relatively quickly, but we are a bit chilly (said while putting another log on the fire).

Psssssst, Kat, don't lose those shoes baby.

Good to see ya here again, my friend! Up until last night, I would have answered your question with ... "I'm doing just fine!" but ... last night I my VModXL BROKE!! Gawd!!! The plastic case just kind of 'snapped' somehow. I had been noticing that when I screwed the cone on when I changed batteries or juice this last couple of days that it didn't seem to fit down snug properly and the vape was a little off (don't think the contact was fully engaged or something) but last night, when I went to change batteries, it was pretty freaking obvious what the problem was when the side that holds the battery fell into two pieces.

Guess I'll have to drop an email off to customer service as it's only two months old. The only problem is ... I'm married to a real 'fix-it' kind of guy - which is usually a really good thing. He is pretty darn good at fixing just about anything. However ... before I could say 'Don't touch that!', he had snaffled it and had the apoxy glue all over it. Needless to say, that just ain't gonna work on this. Which he now realizes. But I think his determination to fix it has likely rendered the warranty void. sigh.

Good thing I still had my Ego Twists and a couple of packages of cartos but ... it's just NOT THE SAME! Crap, crap, crap!!! :( :(

A broken VMOD!!!. Sorry to hear it and good luck with the Warranty. I hope they take care of you on it.

I got my bottles the other day. Been using mine a lot more then anything else. So its safe to say I made a good move on this PV. The more I use it the more I like it. For now all its had in it is Pluid and it really makes the flavor kick. :)

Oh geesss louiseee,

The inhumanityyyyyyyyy. I feel for ya FisherPal. If I had a chassis, I'd send ya one....but I don't. Like you, I didn't get a two for one deal. Definitely get in touch with VAPAGE. Hopefully they will help. Send them to your post above, explain how your husband was trying his best to do a good thing for the wife he loves and that he doesn't want you smoking so he tried a repair.

Good you still had a backup. Anything I can do, just hit me with a PM. Let us know that it turns out ok. If all else fails, let us know, maybe an email from a few of us to Vapage would help...but I don't really think it will be necessary. Vapage will understand.

Good luck and let us know.

And Striker, cool beans, ain't it grand? I liked my VMod when I got it...and now that I've kicked it, it's back in my hand full time.

Thanks for the support, BigMac! :D However, if the warranty is voided, I totally understand. Will just have to save up my pennies for another one the next time a good sale comes along. In the meantime, I'm trying very hard to remember how excited I was when I first got my Ego Twists and thought they were the cat's pj's. It could be worse ... I could have given them away (like I almost did at Christmas!) and then had nothing at all on hand and ... well ... you know what would have happened then, don't you! So ... I am horribly disappointed as I was loving' my VModXL but at least I still have vaping gear. Will keep you posted.

Also ... I can't help but wish I was a handy kind of gal myself as all the components still work fine ... it's just a matter of finding something to replace that broken part with ... hmm ... there must be something I can come up with! ;)

Don't fret FP, i'm sure CS will treat you just fine. I have had mine now since last May and recently had glued it for the 5th or 6th time and been babying it for a few months now. I sent off a ticket the other day and they gave me the ok to have it replaced. I will be sending it off tomorrow. I will miss it till it comes back, but i'm sure I will manage. I love my XL..... I know I will probably break down the next sale and pick up a back up for future though......

Hey FisherPal, so sorry to hear of your ordeal. It sounds like you'll get a replacement, I sure hope so! I just thought I'd let you know one of our good friends on this thread, Racehorse, has a Vmod on the classies right now, looks like a pretty good deal, may be an option to give you a unit while you wait, and then back up for the future. Just thought I'd throw that out there! I wish you the BEST of luck!

OMG! Just got home from work and opened the forum up to find 3 PM's sitting waiting for me. Two from other members here offering amazing generosity of help and one from a Vapage person (don't know if you want me to actually mention you all by name here but ... you know who you are!) saying to go ahead and sent it back for replacement. Also got an email from CS at Vapage replying to my email of last night saying the same. Great company! Fantastic customer service. And an AMAZING COMMUNITY HERE! Thank you, thank you everyone (wipes tear from eye). Seriously ... this was amazing!

Thanks Big Mac. I had something strange happen tonight though. I can only assume my first low res is hitting the skids. At the very same time my battery went flat the atty did as well. Much lower in performance and some burnt action in the taste department. I feel a real need to stock up on some attys asap. Does 30ML sound right for a AMG Hybrid BF?

Striker,
Wish I could tell ya my friend. Seems like folks get anywhere from 3-4 weeks up to a couple of months, and thats per unit! No one has mentioned ml thru the atty. For me, ml thru the atty, 30 would be maybe a week to 8 days, so make sure with a good cleaning and give it another try before deciding it gave up the ghost. I'm still pretty new to using the attys. I have two in rotation. I use a lot of dark juices and shat gets a bit mucked up, so I drop one into everclear, and put on the other one. So far, so good. Maybe someone else with more experience will chime in.

Fisher, so glad to hear it. Vapage will get my business whenever possible. CS to assist in a broken mod, can't beat it guys.

Thanks for the reply. I am actually working on trying to see whats happened. I put the new Atty in and broke it in. Its doing the same thing. Its like the low res is now a high res atomizer. Huge diff. I checked to make sure the battery I put in was full, and checked a few other full batteries as well. Im at a loss.

Holy hotspot Batman...I mean Striker.

Wow, your not supposed to use it as a hand warmer bro. Good the batt worked like it should. Good to know you are ok. Wonder what could have set it off? Wonder how it could have shorted, if you get any info, let us know just for the FYI of it. You good to go, got your backups?

Ya, I heard a sizzle thinking it was the Atty till the smoke started coming out of the bottom. I think it was my fault. One night the power went out. The PV and the flashlight where both on my nightstand. I grabbed for the flashlight and knocked the PV on the floor. I could tell it must have hit flat on the drip tip cause it took some effort to get the DT off. It worked fine for the next 4 days or so but I guess the more I used it the more it worked its way to the dark hand warmer side of things. My night stand is a full 23" off the floor to, so it must have been the worst possible scenario. That's the story of my life
I have backup's but I lent out my only other mechanical. I should be fine but its not going to be fun. I missed my .6 ohm coiled Genesis but the Vmod with a low res was the only thing that that compared in the slightest. Guess I should get another back up mechanical PV.

I feel your pain, Striker! I'm in the same kind of boat having sent in the plastic assembly on mine today for replacement. Although ... I have to admit ... sitting here tonight dripping on my Twist at 4.2v with my Shifu atty ain't half bad! Not bad at all, actually. ;) I'm starting to feel that I'll make it through the 'long wait' for my replacement to get here. Not that I'm knocking Vapage but I know how our Postal system works up here. Oh ... pardon me ... did I say "works"??

That's sure weird what happened to you, though, and a tad bit scary! Glad you escaped the episode undamaged.
