Hi all!

FisherPal, you said it sounds like you're getting e liquid up when you squeeze, but sometimes it seems like an air lock. In another post you described it as "bubble locks". I totally get that. I've experienced it numerous times. Just a tad of a hassle, but I strip the VMOD down to the bone, unscrew the bottle and go at with a toothpick. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. I don't really think it's anything you've done incorrectly. Welp, if you have, *I* have too! :D And hey, I'm an old timer "experienced" VMODian. ;)

If/when I've had an issue with the VMOD, I just drip on the atty. Sometimes (for no reason that I can think of) it just primes it back into functionality. I don't know. I'm a vaper, not a scientist!

Another thing you mentioned... about hearing the liquid entering the chamber but still getting dry hits even after (pardon me, TB) "S"-ing? I really find that tilting the VMOD while taking a hit seems to offer the atty just the right amount of liquid. The learning curve is there, but the difficulty arises in the fact that that curve seems to be a tad different for all of us.

As far as no bubbles go, have you tilted it and given it a slight shake?

TB in a nearby state, you refuse to use the "S" word? Don't tell Tat... ;)

Interesting suggestion here which I'm going to try real soon. I'm sure you've heard of 'Bonuts'? I would say that when the juice is 'injected' into the atty, it will stand a better chance of staying there on top of the coil, along the same lines as a carto, but without that 'carto-ish' (?) flavor diminish. Worth a try.

Now you're talking my language! I'm a verified Bonut Master! I started making them around a year or so ago, and I must say, I found them VERY effective!

HI know very very little about atomizers. Hell, i aint even sure what LR means unless its "lower resistance", and then that was a guess. I was looking at AvidVapers, and they have a number of different Cisco atomizers (cisco being the name batted about by ya'll, they have Aeros also, another name mentioned). Lend a brother a helping hand here please.

I'll lend your pocketbook a hand. :) Until you have dripping and atty experience, I pesonally would not be spending big bucks on a Cisco atty. The're wonderful, but you want to learn on something a lil cheaper, cause when you spend $20 on an atty and wreck it quickly, you'll be holding your head in your hands saying "woe is me".

JMHO of course.

Thanks for the tips, Katdarling. Gives me hope that it's not just me, :) When you say you go at it with a toothpick ... umm ... where are you poking and prodding? I assume from where the bottle screws in and up and that area?

Anyway, for tonight, I'm back to the Ego twist and a 306. Just need a break from all this. Tomorrow is another day! I refuse to give up though. I've been wanting this VMod XL for a long time now and I WILL get it to work!! :D

Use a toothpick or some thing small to stick in the top of the bottle to get rid of the bubble, it sticks in the neck of the bottle. Certain juices seem to do it worse than others and it not necessarily the thicker juices. What I have found that works is to tilt the Vmod and wait a second or two and press in on the bottle just a little. Enough til you feel a resistance, hold the pressure on the bottle and return the Vmod to the up right position. When it's upright give the bottle a little more pressure and you will hear the juice squish up into the atty. Release the bottle slowly, too fast and it will suck juice back into the bottle. Give a couple quick pulls on the tip without pushing the button to pull all the juice into the atty. Hit the button and vape on. With a little practice it kinda become a habit, works best for me. Remember the "too fast and it will suck juice back into the bottle" this works great for a flooded atty. Hold the Vmod upright and push in on the bottle slowly just to the point where the air is gone and release the bottle quickly. It will suck the juice back into the bottle. Do this several times and wait a few seconds to clear your flooded atty. The learning curve and technics are different for everyone but, the end result is the same. Enjoying the best bottom feeder mod on the market today...........

Howdy folks,

Well, as a newbie, and now a stressed newbie, I also have an atty question of sorts. I also went to Vapage's website and discovered the same about the availability of the hybrid....it ain't there at the moment.

I have 10x 10 ml bottles from DesertVape that have been steeping for 4 days now, so got a few more days to go and they should be ready to vape. Decided I should make sure all is prepared. I had placed the packs of hybrids i got, in the Vapage box, but the box is now empty! Wife swears she didn't touch it, so I don't know what to think at this point, but either way, they are gone. I need to order some atomizers (and silos or replacements for the silos, they are missing too) ASAP. Like Racehorse, I enjoy a nice cool vape, so I was thinking about maybe a 2.0 or somewhere in that area.

OK, so now i'm gonna show just how new i am, and jump into an area i know nothing about. It hurts, but i have to admit, I know very very little about atomizers. I believe I need a bridge less atty, and it cannot be a sealed one, correct? What else should I know? And you can bypass those questions if you wanna just plain ol tell me which I should get. Well, tell me all about attys, I need to know for the future, but don't beat around the bush, I need a good suggestion as to the proper atty to use.

Yeah, I'm that new and uneducated.

Help me out folks, thanks guys.

Big Mac

Hey Mac, I am a 100% solid user of Cisco spec atty's and I myself prefer the LR306 1.5ohm's... To me, (and Ukeman it seems), anything over 1.5ohm on a non VV/VW device is not as consistent heat wise. It can be a little too cool most times where the 1.5ohm seems to be more consistent. That being said, here are a few links to some suggestions as alternatives to the new Vapage Hybrid Slant coils.

AERO 306 Bridgeless Atomizer - Avid Vaper (out of stock currently)
Cisco LR306 Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper
XL306 Contoured LR306 Delrin® Drip Tip - Avid Vaper

I have a couple of the slant coils, but still prefer the Cisco's. To me they are just a more consistent atty as far as taste, vapor, and performance. My experiences with 510 style atty's are they all are spitty at times and the 306's aren't. They can be overfed easier IMO as well. Please keep in mind you will need the XL drip tip for use on the Vmod because of the cone. The regular drip tip will work if that is all you have, but the XL sticks out a good 1/2" farther and vapes better. I put a link here for the Aero's but just noticed they are out of stock as well. Don't know for how long, awaiting an answer from Avid though.

Just to clarify, not all Cisco spec atty's are big bucks.... Only the HH357 is $21.99 and $24.99. Cisco 306's are $8.99 and Aero's are $11.99.... The HH357, (to me), was a waste of time and money as I found it very finicky at times and frustrating most others to get a consistent and pleasurable vape....

Welp, Gobbler beat me to the punch and answered your question perfectly! The whole bubble thing doesn't happen (for me) very often, and it's just a bit of a PITA to deal with, but so minor really.

Gobbler, I feed in a similar way to you. Sometimes I skip the squeezing of the bottle altogether. I find that I can tilt the VMOD, and in the inverted position, take a couple of dry pulls to make sure the e liquid is sitting well on the coil, then vape that puppy. Gravitational feeding. ;)

Glad you reiterated the slow release of the squeeze for everyone. I think that's such an important tip! Good job, GH!

First off - Gobbler - thanks for those tips! Among other things, releasing the bottle too fast has, I'm sure, been the cause for most of the dry hits I've been experiencing. From watching numerous videos of people using the VMod, it seemed like it was a fast squeeze/release. I have been practicing your method and am having much better success. Not 100% but I think that the balance of problems could be with the juice I am using.

The vendor I buy from has the tastiest juices I've tried yet but I have noticed, even in the past, that they do have a real bad tendency to 'bubble lock' - even when just trying to top off cartomizers for example. I know this has been an issue with the VMod and maybe more of an issue that I have even realized. Will order some juices from another vendor and see how much of a difference that makes.

And lastly ... am on the fence about whether to order some Cisco atties or the Shifu hydrids as both are getting great reviews. However, I notice that on the Vapage website, it looks like only the 2.5 hybrid atty is available? Am I reading this right? And, if so, does anyone have the inside track on then the 1.5's and 2.0's will be back in stock? I know that last question is kind of stupid but ... sometimes someone really does have some info. ;)

Thanks for all the help everyone has provided for this newbie. It is most appreciated!

Kat, the U-Turn has a crystal clearo on it right, but the piece under it is a shorty cone or what? Doesn't come with correct?

I'm a big fan of the RUBBERIZED cases, to be honest. They feel very good against my skin.

While that pink one is pretty I can't handle all that "raised relief" in my hand.

The other one in black is nice though.

Something for everyone's taste I guess.

Critters! Not cherubs. Dogs, horses, cats, etc. c'mon guys!

I found a gorgeous small sterling silver belt buckle with a horse on it, square, was gonna ask my metalsmith guy to figure out a way to make it flush on one side of my case. I gotta have horses on my vape.

It's funny, I tell people at craft fairs all the time about horse motif. Whether it be handbags, towels, or other do-dads, they sell. Then they do it, and sell out. Then they go back to not having any. :(

I'm pretty sure, even given the avatars I see here on ECF that critters are pretty popular?

Believe so, Race. It says on the site:

5ml plus Crystal tank
Two 2.0ohm replaceable atomizers
One eGo adaptor

The black one is a carbon fiber. Does everyone love it? I think it's very cool!!

Howdy folks.......wait....a.....second.......that picture of the carbon fiber case looks just like the one I lost, it must be mine.....thanks for finding it K A T T T T T ....now give it back.

Is it actually made of carbon fiber, or is it just a skin that looks like cf? Either way, looks nice. I like the idea of the blinged out pink one, but pink clashes with my skin tone...ah damn, too bad..so sad...

OK, so it's been awhile since I've been present in this thread, as I've basically destroyed my VmodXL by modding it for VW.

Today, I came across this Youtube vid of the idea I developed several months ago. I had this built, but the DNA 12 circuit was faulty. Brandon at Evolv replaced the circuit, but I moved on to hard-wiring the Kick into my Vmod XL. Since then cracks developed and the chassis was ruined, so it's been dissected.

This vid shows that you can have VW via the DNA 12 and all-day battery capacity with your standard Vmox XL 18650. Some modifications must be made to the chassis, but this does not decrease the function. Function remains the same, but you can adjust your power output. If anyone is interested in the service of adding the DNA 12 to your Vmod XL, just send me a PM.

Now, this is not MY video, but I developed the idea as soon as the DNA 12 was released. The idea and intellectual rights are mine. I don't claim to be the only one to have the epiphany, tho. I dunno who the vid belongs to, but it is linked to the idea that I developed first. If you want the same thing, I'm happy to make it for you.
