Just debating on if extra silo carts are worth it or if I should put that money towards more slant coil attys. they are out of the 1.5 but I am not even sure I would like it that low. It's in the review section because the OP is the first view & video of the VmodXL. It quickly replaced earlier popular vmod1 threads.

There have been (and are currently) other Vmod threads, but this one is sort of like the energizer bunny, it keeps going and going and going.

Thought maybe I might give it a try. Does anyone know where this might be located. Did some searches but did not come up with anything. Can't remember how I found it last time

I'm not sure what's going on with the vmod. It is hitting terrible. I have cleaned it up switched attys and still hits really weak and harsh. Battery is at 4.01, slant hybrid atty reads 1.4 ohms and juice is 70pg/30vg. Any thoughts?

Are you using a VMod (the Baby one) or a VModXL? The reason I ask is because for the life of me I couldn't get either of the two little ones I have (3 now) to perform like my VModXL's!! I was using 14500 Vapage batteries that I ordered during the last Vapage sales over the last several months. None of the new Vapage 14500 batteries (I tried 4 of them) were making very good contact! The VMod just was NOT performing well!! Ugh! I finally tried another 14500 battery I had (not Vapage 14500) after messing with it for hours! Yep! I washed the VMods & took everything apart also -- even cut new Velcro strips & took them in and out -- 2 strips then 3 ... then no strips to hold the battery -- tried everything! Anyway ... The other 14500 battery (not the Vapage 14500) worked MUCH better!!! I recently acquired another Baby VMod from the Classies (thinking of giving one to my son for work) and discovered that the Vapage batteries that were sent to me with it worked fine!! I took pictures of them side by side! The ones I got over the last 6 months are LONGER ... And the tops of them are much smaller also! I'm pretty sure that this is what is causing my Baby VMods to not perform very well! I haven't tackled this with Vapage Customer Service yet! Ugh! I had problems getting my atty order straight and I haven't had time to spend trying to get through to Customer Service. Anyway ... Here's the picture I took of the two different sizes of Vapage 14500 batteries.

The one on the left is the one that I got from a Classie sale ... And the one that works!! As you can see it is shorter than the one on the right (the ones I have stocked up on! Ugh!) ... AND you can see the difference in size of the top of the battery where the VMod firing pin makes contact! Obviously the older one with the flatter top works BETTER!!

Just wanted to show you my recently discovered problems. Ugh!

So I don't know if this is what is TOTALLY causing the problems with my Baby VMod's performance ... Just thought maybe trying a different battery might help! Also it seems that the angle in which you "hit the button" affects how it performs. I don't have these issues with the XL for some reason?!?!! Perhaps it is simply because I started with the XL and just like IT better! ;-)

Low, my first instinct is that it's the atty. When you say weak, you mean little vapor? And when you say harsh, you mean tending towards a dry hit? If my guesses are right, it sounds like eliquid not getting to the coil. I would humbly suggest that you toss a carto on it (one you know is working on other mods) and see how it is. There are only a couple of components you can change out and test... the topper (heater) and the battery. I would also test your Slant coil on another mod.

Lastly, check to make sure you bottle isn't air/vapor locked.

Oh, and lastly lastly, change your drip tip...

Thanks for the tips ! I tried all those and still got the same thing. Switched out bottles (and juice) and now all is well. Wondering if the bottle is toast? How long do they last. Been in service a month of all day (4+ ml) vaping

I can't say how long a bottle will last. Guess til it's done.

Have you checked it closely for cracks? I'm glad it turned out to be just the bottle!

1 Check insulator in positive pin
2 check voltage drop under load, on good batts it should be about 5-8% max (depends of atty resistance)
3 make temporary, additional negative wire from bottom of the batt to chassis
4 clean all contacts (vmod and batt) with alcohol or use special paste
5 best test is connect atty to full load batt with 2 wires (be carefull) - if then everything is ok You must check for porblem in mod

And for the end - install kick or other vw chip

Show of hands who here have sent/requested for a replacement chassis more than 3 times. Bought one on the classifieds last April, when it arrived in the mail I checked for contents made sure that everything was there and checked for cracks and in the foam drawer. I didn't even test the unit, until about a week ago I took it out on a whim to test it, I was surprised to find not 1 but 2 cracks battery and juice feeder assembly where the retaining pin is lodge to keep the feeder assembly from moving. I'm hoping that I got the V1 Chassis because if this is the V2 it'll just keep going back.

Hey time2quit How did you dismantle the switch on the Vmod XL, Bought mine in the classifieds so mine didn't come with instructions I was roughing it so to speak.
