Rsbernie, I like a soak in cheap vodka, then a short dry burn. You almost have to experiment with various methods to see what you like. Some people don't ever clean them.
As far as I know, there are no better and cheaper ones. Stock up on these when Vapage holds their sales. Also, you may want to try a Joye 510 atty. They are a slight step down, but a LOT less expen$$$ive.
Kat I have to take exception. The atty that came with my XL setup was either bad or just wrong. It always seemed hot and the draw on it was pretty awful (way too tight) too. Someone else I know who tried them said they had a "hot metal" taste to them and yeah - that's exactly how I would also describe my experience. I also describe it as boiling liquid while it was producing vapor. Toward the end it just started behaving "weird" - every so often you would hear a soft 'pop' and get a sensation like it just exploded a hot vapor bubble. (It was amusing - yet getting kind of scary.) I played with that thing for about three weeks trying to get it to produce a decent vape - then it popped and put both of us out of our misery.
I headed right for the Ikenvape I06 at 1.8 ohms. My god - the thing works and works well. Consistent performance & flavor with no weirdness like I was getting from the Vapage atty. Having found the Ikenvapes I doubt I'll be going back for another bite as what started as a bad apple with the Vapage attys. It's not even that the I06 is less expensive - it just works better.
Love the Vmod, and dare I say it - even the carto that came with it. But that atty was an oddly unpleasant experience.

Do note: If you are new to I06's they are ever so slightly larger than a stock 306 atty - standard 306 drip tips do not fit. You do need to get a 306 drip tip made to fit them.
