I honestly believe their stress cracks caused by the cone compressing it. With the lip on the bottom it causes pressure when the cone is tightened, and there is no outlet except where the two halves are joined together:2c:
That's the thing this one didn't crack where the halves meet like the first one it's cracking horizontally across the halves almost on the bottom and spreading underneath where the bottle screws in. I think it more from the pressure of squeezing the bottle. I don't tighten my cone too hard nor screw the bottle in too tight.

I can't imagine squeezing the bottle that hard unless it was low on juice. Whenever I get low , around a 1/4 tank, I refill just because it's a difficult squeeze. For the most part, the metal feeding/drip well construction is going to absorb that stress anyhow. Lifting the shell off causes this area to be struck by the window opening sometimes. Yep, a vertical crack on the seam I can understand but a horizontal one across the seams baffles me.

I need some advice please....
My VMOD XL doesn't fire all the time when I press the button, it either fires weakly (low hiss) or not at all and then if I shake it a bit with my finger held down then it starts to fire properly. I am using the red AW IMR 18650 with the nipple top and cisco 306 atty.

Thanks.

First check the contact point at the bottom of the button and clean it with alchohol and then put a dab of Noalox, also check the bottom spring as I have noticed in my replacement chasis that the spring frequently bends over when installing a battery and you might need to straighten it out, your battery should not be able to shake up and down and the spring may even be collapsed due to a short in an atty or carto. I use the aw protected version (black) and it is a little longer. I have used the orange ones you have and it feels all loose and doesn't fire right IMHO. Could be your battery spring is wearing out also.

Thanks Karma , my spring is nice and straight and has not collapsed ,my battery doesn't move when I shake but somehow it makes it fire stronger and once its firing it is fine. I will try cleaning the button, what is Noalx?

Thanks

Noalox is a compond you can get at any hardware store, it is used for metal to prevent threads from seizing as well as preventing oxidation on metals, also promotes electrical conductivity..... Google it if you want more info :)

+1 on the "on" position... I have done this more than once. The button just has a tendency to rotate sometimes when under pressure. I find I have the same problem as Atlantis in that mine fires strangely sometimes also. I use the newer Panasonic batteries in mine and they fit quite snug in place. I have noticed on a few occasions it is how I am holding it in my hand and the switch is not being pushed straight down and a little on an angle. I just release and re-fire and i'm good to go...

VModians, the Vaping Ninja has struck again:w00t: He is currently working the cracked chassis issues at the factory!! And in the meantime, Vapage will continue to warranty VMods with manufacturing issues, and even if you gotta hold it together somehow, don't sweat it, Vapage will STILL warranty it!! Happy Vaping VModians:)

Way to go vapage! I hope one day that they will produce a V.V. Vmod with a display thats made of Aluminum , I would be happy pay Reo prices for one of those.

Also its a shame the new rebuildable bottom feeder attys won't work with the Vmod , I really like the idea of a BF RBA but don't way to have to buy a Reo.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

I went out and got some Noalox so I am going to go and put some on my button and see if it improves the firing issue.

Skinny got me today too. That's one quick ninja. Just wanted to relay part of my PM Brian sent, which is pretty much what Tat has said already. Vapage is aware of the recent posts about the in-flux of cracking chassis and are addressing the issues. I kinda like getting that PM out of nowhere when I have a issue rather then calling in. A plus once again for customer service. My crack is not too bad I think I'll hold on to it for awhile to see if it gets worse, rather not part with it again so soon.
